Q. Tell everyone who you are and what you do?

A. My name is Young Niyah and I’m a multi-talented rapper/songwriter/actress.

Q. Most people may or may not know that your mom is Tameka Scott from Xscape. What are the pressures and pleasures of being a child of a star?

A. Really no pressure because she’s just mom to me. She’s someone that I look up to and she’s always keeping me on track with the do’s and don’ts about life. It’s a wonderful blessing.

Q. What are some of your most memorable childhood experiences that made you want to go into the entertainment industry?

A. I was in elementary school l when I first started rapping and everyone would always ask me to rap. I would spit my bars, and everyone loved it.

Q. Who are some of your favorite artists?

A. I really like Lauryn Hill because she’s like a triple threat to me. She can sing, rap, and I love what she talks about.

Q. What happened to your full scholarship with Arkansas University?

A. I turned it down to pursue my dreams.

Q. What advice would you give to others trying to get into the industry?

A. I would say to stay true to yourself and be who you are.
