    Book: The Psychology of Money

    Author: Morgan Housel

    By: Cece Hymes

This book was a book that teaches you timeless lessons on wealth, greed and happiness. It gives you examples of thinking. Instead of thinking to be rich, think to be wealthy.  It teaches you about money, investing, personal and business finances.

When I read this book, I got to thinking like someone can say I am broke but spend 10 dollars a day on the lottery on a chance of winning between 1 out of billions of people. Instead of thinking like that when you can spend 10 in stock or just 10 a month on life insurance. It also makes you think about how people can be broke or say they broke but spend 200 dollars on Jordans but not 200 in marketing for their business. We have people that will spend 1000 dollars on a meet & greet with celebrities or concerts V.I.P. but will not spend 1000 on great motives.

This book opens your eyes to think about spending wisely. Us as people are taught wrong and our priorities are not right. So, I wrote down a list of things I am going to work on and also need to change my way of thinking.

Let me know what you thought of this book and also make sure to Join Cece Book Club on Instagram and Facebook.

    Q. When did you start Modeling?

    A. I have been modeling officially for over a year now, but the world has been a runway in my mind since birth.

    Q. Who inspired you?

    A. It was not a person that inspired what honestly it was the fact that I was doubted that inspired me.

    Q. Why did you want to model?

    A. The reason behind me wanting to model was because when I was growing up in a rough part of Washington D.C. I wasn’t always viewed as beautiful, yet alone I would have never seen myself as a model. I had really low self esteem and I would get picked on because my butt was too big or the gap I had in my teeth. I become a model to show other girls out there they can do it no matter what anyone thinks. Our creator made us all perfect and the sooner we embrace made us all perfect and the sooner we embrace that the greater we will feel about ourselves.

    Q. What inspiration words would you give to someone who wants to get into modeling?

    A. I would tell them patience and dedication. Modeling is so much more than pretty pictures and nice makeup. It is a lot of hard work. It takes a lot of practice and discipline. Also, there are a lot of manipulators and creeps out there that are going to try to exploit you and you have to know how to say no. Majority of the time if it sounds too good it is because nothing in the industry is handed to you.

    Q. The stupidest thing you ever did?

One day someone broke into my house and to make a long story short we got to tussling and stuff. He ran out the side door and I chased him. Looking back, that was the stupidest thing I ever did. I could have gotten hurt or killed. I don’t know what made me chase him. Just glad things weren’t worse.

    Q. Your Secret Shame?

My Secret Shame is that I don’t think I have ever really opened my heart up to anyone. I put them in a position not to get too far. I have it grounded for so many years. I think that’s another reason I never got married. I have had relationships for years with people. I never felt the urge to break down, cry or have big emotions over a real break up. So, for the next one I am in. I will try to be more emotional and more open minded. I took time out to work on myself and I am very proud of the decisions that I have made. That is a secret shame of mine.

Interview with Kevin Bennett Owner of Gifted Apparel NYC

    By: Where It Begins

    Q. Do you plan to expand your business outside of Brooklyn?

    A. We started out in Brooklyn and our headquarters is in Brooklyn but the whole business is online, and we have a huge number of customers nationwide.

    Q. Why do you think people should support you?

    A. When you wear Gifted Apparel, you’re going to get more compliments with these t-shirts than any other you’ve worn before. It’s a great product with great quality and you can’t go wrong for the price.

    Q. Do you plan to add more products or just mainly focus on T-Shirts?

    A. That is something that is very long term down the road. We have a very decent customer base that is growing more and more every day and there are still millions of people whom we haven’t reached and want to reach that still haven’t brought a Viva Brooklyn T-shirt. We do plan to branch out to more constructive pieces but that will be much later down the road.

    Q. What kind of advice would you give to someone who is trying to start a business?

    A. You need to know exactly what it is that you want to do. You need to have more in mind than just being successful. You should know what you want and come up with a plan of action to make it work.

    Q. What do you do for fun outside of the business world?

    A. I’m usually with my daughter just having fun and enjoying her. I’ve traveled a bit within the last 18 months but that’s about it.
