Book: The Memo
Author: Minda Harts
By: Cece Hymes
This book here was good. It tells you about the different stories on how to secure a seat at the table. It teaches you to ask for more. Know your worth. The book speaks on women of color getting paid what they deserve. You could have the same title and job as others and get paid less money and take it because you think it’s enough even if it’s not enough for all the work that you do.
This book is an eye opener. I have been a full-time entrepreneur for a year now. It’s hard but it’s worth it. To be investing a lot of time in my business and not someone else’s business to get them to the top. If you want more and want to do it, better take the leap and jump. Every entrepreneur starts off rough, but the finish line is what matters. Make a plan and execute it.
Also in this book it tells you to go to networking events and even if you are tired still go to those social events. Those social events open doors. I read before that hanging at the golf course and happy hour is great to really get your feet in doors.
This book came right at a good time because sometimes I just don’t know what the next step is or where it is going to come from. I pray and then write out a plan and go for it. Check out this book and tell me what you think. It’s not a big book but it’s a great book to read. I really needed this book.
