    30- Day challenge

    Day 5

    Q.  An inanimate object that’s important to you?

I have two that come to mind. The first one I would say is my car. I am the only owner of my car. I got it when it first came out. I was not really into small cars. I fell in love with mine. It’s good on gas, the perfect size and I have not had any major problems with it. This car has taken me all around and traveled everywhere so definitely will say my car.

The second one I will say is my Magazines. Starting a magazine company and being able to still do it 4 years later. When I look at this it shows me a big accomplishment and all the great talents that are in it. When they order the magazine and show it to me, they put it in their home, office and up on the wall it makes me feel great. This is important to me. It’s not just a career, it’s also my passion. I love to show it off. Each one gets better and better.

    30- Day challenge

    Day 4

    Q. A Strange Phone Call?

I cannot really recall a strange phone call. I can say that I got a call before and the person knew my name, address, birthdate, and all asking was I that person. If you know so much information, why do I need to verify it for you? I do not know who you are. So I started asking them the same questions and then what they did was hung up.

That was odd to me but again it’s so many scammers out there. I do not verify anything by phone. If you know and need to send me something I guess, I will get a letter in the mail.

With that being said please protect your business and don’t verify anything with anyone. Watch out for scammers. They are out there taking your information and being more careful.

  • 30-Day Challenge (August 2022) Day 3

    30- Day challenge

    Day 3

    Q. Your Mother or your father?

I choose my mother to talk about. My mom passed away in 2017. I wasn’t her only child, but I was her only daughter. I got to know my mom better when I moved in with her at the age of 14. As all families go through their ups and downs, we sure did but as they always say a mother’s love is different. She had her ways, but she had a big heart. She never forgot anyone’s birthdays. She was stubborn in her ways, so I see where I got that part from lol, but I am working on that. What I can say is I miss my mom not hearing her voice and hearing her talk mess everyday lol. One thing she always told me was that I can do anything. With that being said I never gave up and am still pushing with what my dreams are. I will make her proud.

Losing a mother is hard but trying to be strong for everyone else is even harder. I know that she is in a better place and no more pain for her. I know she is looking down on us and is proud of all her kids.  I am not going too deep but what I will say is for everyone to treasure the moment they have with their mom. Life is too short these days.

Mom, I miss and love you dearly thanks for everything you have done for me and my family. Know that you will never be forgotten and that we will send balloons up every year as we have been doing to show you that you are here with us in our hearts. Say hey to Grandma also and everyone else in the family.  Keep looking over us and protecting us.

  • 30-day challenge (Day 2) August

    30- Day challenge

    Day 2

    Q. Your First Heartbreak?

Most people would say that a man or woman broke their heart or parents. For me I would say when I had my first-born child and they told me that she couldn’t breathe the air she had to be in the tube and I thought she was not going to make it.

Being pregnant at a young age and then being in the hospital and being told that was the most heartbreaking news I heard. I didn’t know what to do but to hope and pray. A mother’s bond is a different type of love. To hold my child and then see her in a tube. The Doctors were telling me she may not make it. She had to stay there 2 weeks after she was born before she could come home. For 2 weeks that pain.

It was the most terrifying thing. I would say that was my first heartbreak experience.

    Day 1.

    Q. The story behind your profile picture?

Well, I have 2 Profile picture so I will discuss both. The first one is when I went to old school Saturday with some friends decided to wear my new outfit from Fashion Nova. It was leopard and different thought it was cute. I hadn’t been out in a long time so was excited to get out and go dance. So decided to put it as my profile picture.

The Second one that I have up is a picture of me as a character with my magazines in it. This picture represents me and my work. The different magazines that I have and to let people know to follow my journey. Someone made it for me, and I decided to make it my profile picture.

That’s the story behind both of my profile pictures. If you want to join the 30-day blog go to Cece Challenges on Facebook or share up under this post.

  • American Dirt by Jeanine Cummins

    Book: American Dirt

    Author: Jeanine Cummins

    By: Cece Hymes

American Dirt—Now what can I say about this book. It was a good read. I learned about immigrants and how they travel to come to the United States. Reading this book and knowing what the Cartels can do to you. Being on the run to try to protect family and people you love. How you have to be strong in each way to try to survive.

Lydia & Luca bond and braveness to survival teached and showed me how you have to be strong in the world. They were forced to leave everything behind to survive. They go through a lot of trials and bad things travelling and learning that you can’t trust everyone.

Lydia believed and, in this book, I believed that her husband was with her the whole time.  The journey and experiences were heartbreaking. Hated what the cartels can do to a person. Lucas was so strong to be just 8 years old. Lucas stood up for himself and others that he cared about.

Immigrants and what they have to do to try to come over to the States is a lot. Just thinking of violence, rape, hunger, being dehydrated and no money just to try to survive. Having to sleep with one eye open. How people can take advantage of someone without a care in the world.

This book definitely opened my eyes to want to do more in the community and do more for people in need if I can.

Check out this book and let me know your thoughts and how you felt? Have you ever been in a situation like this? Share with us. We would like to hear about it.

  • The Moment We Met by Camille Baker

    Book: The Moment We Met

    Author: Camille Baker

    By: Cece Hymes

This has been the second book I have read by this author, and this was a great read. This book was about an app that was transferred to Tiwanda phone called “Met”. The app will tell you 4 people will come into your life and be your soulmate. Tiwanda does not do well with relationships and makes up excuses on why she does not date. It’s her thirtieth birthday and she hates her job. She wants to start her own business. She gets a business opportunity to get money from a nonprofit business. She got accepted into the program and you get more money if you go to the next level. Tiwanda quit her job right on time so that she can concentrate on her own business.

During the next couple of months, she will also meet 4 people that potentially will be her soul mate. She has mixed emotions about it but each one of the people she meets come in her life at different times that she needs it. She finally let her guard down and dated. She also gets a chance to meet and learn about her mom’s side of the family. Tiwanda is learning new things and with destiny on her side, maybe there’s a chance all those dreams that she has will come true as far as business, love and more.

I kind of wished we had an app like that in reality. Also, I love the dedication she had building her business. She motivated me to want to apply for grants and see if my small business will get accepted. I enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read part three of this book. It’s a great read. Let me know your opinions.

  • Home Before Dark by Riley Sager

    Book: Home Before Dark

    Author: Riley Sager

    By: Cece Hymes

This Book was good. It was about a little girl named Maggie at the time who was about 5 years old and her parents moved into Baneberry Hall. Where this house had a reputation of generation after generation of people dying in the home. It was also connected to a graveyard, but the parents didn’t know too much about the home and the neighborhood. The dad writes a book telling his experience about this haunted house he lives in. The book was pretty good but brought a bad name to the neighborhood and people did not believe the things he said in the book.

Now it’s 25 years later and Maggie is grown up. Her parents don’t like to talk about the book and what went on in that house. Her dad passed away and left her that house in Baneberry Hall that he says is haunted. He tells her to never go in that house. She read the book and wanted to really know what happened in that house. She goes back to the house to see if things will come back, and she can find clarity. This House is called the house of horrors.

As Maggie stays in this house and talks to people, she finds out different information and things each time and each visit in this house. Is this house really haunted or was this all made up. Did the things in the book really happen? This book you must read to see what really happens and see if this house is really haunted by ghosts. Maggie gets all the answers she is looking for but you would never believe what happens to Maggie and what goes on in this Haunted house that is now hers.

Do you believe in ghosts? Do you believe in spirits? Do you like thrillers? Well check this book out and tell me what you think of it.

  • J. Lo & Ben Affleck gets Married in Las Vegas

Title: J Lo & Ben Affleck Gets Married in Las Vegas

    By: Cece Hymes

I definitely want to give congrats to J. Lo and Ben on their Marriage and journey. Us as people are so quick to judge but people don’t know their backstory. Sometimes it takes a breakup and gets back together to know that this person is your best friend/soulmate. Sometimes it takes people to change and get themselves together. They may not have been ready then but are ready now.

Why do us women have to grieve all the time when we have a breakup. Sometimes things don’t work out and we just move on just like a man does. Time does not wait on anyone. If you are not going to do right let us, go and move on and be happy.

    J. Lo. & Ben, you deserve to be happy. I wish you all nothing but the best. J. Lo I watched your documentary on Netflix, and you deserve nothing but the best. I am hoping you get that Oscar because you are a great actor and singer. All your movies are very motivating. That movie “enough” I think every woman should watch. We need more people to think positive and be happy for one another and stop being so judgmental. With that being said I hope for nothing but success, happiness and peace for the newlyweds. Good things come to people with patience.

Second time around may be the best time around. Love is beautiful. Congrats again.
