  • Cece in the City: Exploring Atlanta’s Hidden Gems

Happy Sunday, friends! 🌞 Let’s talk about a few of my Cece in the City adventures that make Atlanta one of the most vibrant and fun places to explore.

    1. The BeltLine – If you haven’t been, the BeltLine is a whole vibe. From food spots to street performers, it’s where cultures mix and creativity flows. Whether you’re biking, walking, or just people-watching, there’s always something happening.
    1. Krog Street Tunnel – This isn’t just a tunnel, it’s a living canvas. Every time I go, the art is different, bold, and full of energy. It’s like stepping into Atlanta’s heartbeat—raw, colorful, and ever-changing.
    1. Hop ‘N Go Tours – Talk about fun! This rolling adventure takes you around Atlanta while serving up history and laughs. I learned things about the city I never knew, all while riding in style. Definitely a must-do if you want to play tourist for a day.
    1. The Botanical Gardens – Flowers, sculptures, and serenity all in one. I’ve been to both the Atlanta Botanical Garden and the one in Gainesville. Atlanta’s is larger and full of surprises (especially during the holiday lights ✨), while Gainesville’s has its own charm and peaceful vibes. Both are worth it!
    1. Mercedes-Benz Stadium – It’s football season, y’all! 🏈 From the skybox to the regular seats, this stadium is an experience no matter where you sit. The energy is electric, the food is surprisingly affordable, and it’s a piece of Atlanta history in the making.

Atlanta never runs out of gems to explore, and I’m just getting started. Stay tuned—more Cece in the City adventures are on the way! 💫

  • My Hop n Go Tours Experience

Y’all know Cece be in the city, and you already know I had to check out Hop n Go Tours—the ultimate sightseeing experience in Atlanta! From day tours and food tours to grown-and-sexy adult tours, Hop n Go is doing it all. I went on a two-hour adventure with our amazing tour guide, Alex, and let me tell you… she’s the real MVP!

We rolled through ATL in style, soaking up the sights and history. Alex dropped gems on every stop—we hit Centennial Olympic Park, the Georgia State Capitol, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s home and exhibit, the Madame CJ Walker Museum, The Underground, and more. It wasn’t just a tour, it was a whole vibe!

Alex knows her stuff. I even got a chance to chat with her one-on-one. Hop n Go started as her passion project after she moved from L.A. to Atlanta. She wanted to connect with the city on a deeper level, and since she loves traveling and meeting new people, she decided to bring those passions together and create something dope—and boom, Hop n Go Tours was born.

When I asked her what she loves most about ATL, she said:

    1. Meeting new people and embracing the culture.
    2. All the unique experiences Atlanta has to offer.
    3. And of course… the food! (We definitely bonded over that one!)

Hop n Go is a one-stop shop. Alex mixes history, music, and fun to give you a tour you won’t forget. Oh—and you can sip while you ride! Champagne, soft drinks, even adult beverages are available on board. Yes, ma’am!

I had the best time learning about the city and snapping pics at the landmarks. I’m already planning a group tour with my Women Stand Strong crew—and we might just try the night tour next. Atlanta really shines when it lights up at night!

So if you’re ever in the A—or even if you’re a local looking to explore your city in a new way—check out Hop n Go Tours. Alex is awesome, and her energy is contagious. Trust me, you’ll leave with memories, photos, and fun facts you’ll want to tell everybody.

  • Snow in Atlanta: A Surprise Winter Wonderland

Wow, snow in Atlanta? I can hardly believe it! I left the North behind to escape the cold, yet here it is, following me all the way to Georgia. But hey, life’s all about making the most of the unexpected, right?

Today’s snow day is the perfect excuse to hit the pause button. I’m trading my usual hustle for a cozy day of movies, books, and pure relaxation. The snow might not stick around for long—most of it will likely melt by tomorrow—but for now, I’m soaking in the simple beauty of a wintery view.

Even though I’m not a fan of the cold, I can’t help but be thankful for the warmth of my home, the comfort of my bed, and a day to slow down. To everyone else experiencing this rare Atlanta snowfall, enjoy it while you can! Curl up, stay warm, and let’s all savor this fleeting little slice of winter.

  • Holiday Magic at Atlanta Botanical Garden: Our First Light Show Adventure!

Hey readers! This holiday season, we finally got to experience the Atlanta Botanical Garden: Garden Lights—and let me tell you, it was nothing short of magical! Imagine Christmas lights that don’t just sparkle but come alive in a stunning show. It felt like stepping into a festive wonderland!

I went with my family, and we lucked out with perfect weather. A night in the 60s meant we could stroll through the glowing garden without freezing—ideal for soaking in the beauty. While I skipped the hot chocolate (shocking, I know), we couldn’t resist the s’mores! They gave us cute little s’mores kits, and we roasted marshmallows over the fire. There’s something about gooey marshmallows under twinkling lights that makes the holidays even sweeter.

After ten years in Atlanta, I can’t believe this was my first visit to Garden Lights! Watching the Christmas trees dance in lights and nature illuminated in breathtaking ways was a feast for the eyes. If you haven’t been yet, do yourself a favor—grab your loved ones and check it out before it’s over. Trust me, it’s a sight you’ll remember for seasons to come!

Here’s to holiday cheer and creating beautiful memories, one light at a time! ✨

  • The Nichols Brothers: Suburbia to Destruction by Mark Nichols.

This month, I’m excited to highlight and support some incredible people I’ve met and the fascinating books they’ve written. As a true bookworm with a passion for reading, I can’t resist sharing their journeys and stories with you.

One book that really caught my attention is The Nichols Brothers: Suburbia to Destruction by Mark Nichols. You might recall the chilling story from 2005 when Brian Nichols brought Atlanta to a standstill after escaping custody and killing a judge. This book dives deep into that event, offering a gripping look at what led up to that fateful day.

I had the opportunity to speak with the author, Mark Nichols, who is Brian Nichols’ brother. Hearing his perspective and learning more about the story made this book even more impactful. And yes, I’ve got my autographed copy—definitely a treasure in my collection.

If you’re curious to know more about this intense and compelling story, I highly recommend checking out the book. It’s a powerful read that will leave you thinking long after you’ve turned the last page

    Day 19: Big Tigger

Today, I’m thrilled to give a shoutout to Big Tigger! Originally from my hometown of Washington, DC, I’ve seen him around Georgia Ave and at various events in DC. Now that we’re both in Atlanta, I’ve had the chance to meet him several times here as well. Naturally, I have to give him his flowers today, especially since we share that hometown bond.

Every time I see Big Tigger, he’s living life to the fullest, always dancing and spreading joy. He’s come a long way and continues to rise. • Highlighting 2 Chainz

For the month of July, I want to shine a light on some amazing celebrities I’ve met and highlight the positive things I enjoy about them. We’re used to hearing the negative and drama, but let’s flip the script and share the good vibes!

    Day 6: 2 Chainz

I had the chance to meet 2 Chainz right here in Atlanta during a back-to-school giveaway event he was having and I was doing media coverage for his event. I came to support, and it was clear how much he cares about the community. Beyond his music, he’s always giving back—he donates to homeless veterans through his clothing line and has opened several restaurants in Atlanta.

Fun fact: my cousin went to college with him at Alabama State and always speaks highly of him. Plus, his podcast with his son is absolutely adorable! Today, I want to give 2 Chainz his flowers and tell him to keep up the great work. You inspire so many people, including me. Thanks for all you do!

I’ve had the chance to meet Pastor Troy a few times here in Atlanta, and he always seems so cool and down-to-earth. If you’ve ever been to a football game, you know he’ll be there, always reppin’ the city with pride. Beyond the music and the fame, Pastor Troy is deeply involved in the community. He’s often out feeding families and partnering with local restaurants to give back.

One Easter, I even got to help out with an event he organized for kids in the community, and it was such a rewarding experience. I truly admire what he does for the youth and the positive impact he makes.

Today, I want to give Pastor Troy his flowers and encourage him to keep doing great things in the city. And one day, I’m going to win that belt he carries with him – mark my words lol!
