  • Goodbye June, Hello July  Happy 4th of July!

Waving goodbye to rainy June and welcoming in sizzling July with open arms—and a neck fan on standby (yes, I ordered mine and I’m not ashamed!). Here is the link if you want to get one from amazon https://amzn.to/3I9t333 Can you believe we’re already halfway through the year?

Today is Independence Day, a time to celebrate freedom, fun, and fireworks! The 4th of July marks the day in 1776 when the Declaration of Independence was adopted, officially breaking away from British rule. While I do have to work today (duty calls!), I’ll be clocking out in time to catch some fireworks—hooray for balance!

June Recap: Books, Movies & More

Our Cece Book Club pick for June was Rock Paper Scissors by Alice Feeney, and whew—what a read! Twisty, suspenseful, and definitely discussion-worthy. We’ll be diving into it this Sunday, and if you’ve been thinking about joining our monthly chats, here’s your invite!https://bookclubz.com/clubs/8151/join/0cfb43/  or head over to our Facebook group. https://www.facebook.com/groups/1033867936640433/?ref=share&mibextid=NSMWBT

For my Cece on the Scenes movie spotlight, June’s pick was K.O—a solid 4 out of 5 stars in my book. If you love action with a punch (literally), this one’s worth the watch.

Whether you’re single, in a relationship, or just vibing with the love of family and friends, today is for you!

And this year, they surprised me with a teddy bear, flowers, and candy! Talk about a full-circle moment.

  • Honoring Rosa Parks on Her Birthday & Black History Month

As we celebrate Black History Month, today holds special significance—it marks the birthday of Rosa Parks, a woman whose quiet strength ignited a movement that changed history. Born on February 4, 1913, in Tuskegee, Alabama, Rosa Parks became a symbol of courage and resilience when she refused to give up her seat to a white passenger on a Montgomery bus in 1955.

Her simple yet powerful act of defiance led to the Montgomery Bus Boycott, a pivotal moment in the Civil Rights Movement. Parks’ bravery, along with the collective efforts of the Black community, challenged segregation laws and pushed America toward justice and equality.

Rosa Parks’ legacy reminds us that one person’s courage can spark lasting change. As we honor her today, let’s reflect on the power of standing up—or sitting down—for what is right. Happy Birthday, Rosa Parks! Your strength continues to inspire generations.

  • Highlighting Khaotic

🌟 For the month of July, I’m shining a spotlight on some amazing celebrities I’ve met and celebrating the positive vibes they bring. We hear enough drama—let’s switch gears and focus on the good stuff! 🌟

    Day 18: Khaotic 🎤🎉

I’ve had the pleasure of meeting Khaotic a few times right here in Atlanta, and he never fails to bring the fun! I first met him years ago at Flau’jae’s Sweet 16 party, and watching him with Scrappy on social media is hilarious. Those two are a riot together!

I’ve been to a few of his events where he performed his hit “Appreciate Me,” and let me tell you, he knows how to put on a show. What stands out the most is his infectious smile and the joy he radiates. Khaotic has grown and evolved in so many ways, truly enjoying life to the fullest.

He’s a constant presence at community events, always supporting and giving back. The friendship he shares with Scrappy is heartwarming—everyone needs a friend like that!

Today, I’m giving Khaotic his well-deserved flowers. From Florida to Atlanta, his journey is inspiring. Keep doing what you’re doing, Khaotic! Your positivity, growth, and dedication to helping others are truly commendable. Change is good, and you’re living proof of that! #JulyCelebritySpotlight #CeceInTheCity #Khaotic #PositiveVibes #CommunityHero

  • Highlighting Common, a rapper and actor!

For the month of July, I want to highlight some incredible celebrities I’ve had the pleasure of meeting and share the positive things I love about them. We’re used to hearing the negative and drama, but let me share the positive!

Day 2 is all about the multi-talented Common, a rapper and actor who embodies positivity and community spirit. I had the chance to meet him twice—once in Jamaica and once in Atlanta. In Jamaica, I even got to meet his band, who were really cool. Although Common was running late, he made sure we got our picture together, which I’m so thankful for (even if I wasn’t thrilled with the face I made—I’m not a picture person, lol).

I also supported him at a book signing for his memoir “Let Love Have the Last Word,” which is an inspiring read. He has another book, “And Then We Rise,” which I haven’t read yet but it’s on my list—I love reading! Today, I want to give Common his roses for all the positive work he’s done in the community.

Common started a nonprofit organization focused on mentoring, arts programs, and service projects to help underprivileged young people. He has partnered with others to raise scholarship money for students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and has worked closely with the prison community. These are just a few of the many amazing things he’s done.

When I met him both times, he was very nice and positive. Make sure to check out his books—both of them! Also, if you haven’t seen the movie “Just Wright,” starring Common, it’s a great film. And don’t miss his song “Love of My Life” with Erykah Badu—it’s a fantastic track.

Common, thank you for all you do! You truly deserve these roses.
