     Aaron Carter was a singer and rapper. He came to fame as a teen pop singer in the late 1990’s. His brother Nick Carter was in the Backstreet Boys. Here are some songs of Aaron Carter:

    Aaron Carter appeared on Dancing with the Stars and in the Broadway Musical Seussical. He touched a lot of people in the pop world. It was so sad to hear about his death at such a young age.     I want everyone to pray for everyone in the world. We are dealing with so much in today’s world. Depression, Addictions, and Mental Health. We as a community have to come together.     Jesse Powell was an R&B and soul singer and songwriter. He was known for one of my favorite hits “You”. Everyone loved that song. Jesse was credited with a four-octave vocal range. He was A Grammy nominee. Here are some of his songs:

    Jesse’s songs always seem to be on billboards. He had that voice, he kind of reminds you of a Tevin Campbell. It was so sad when I heard he passed away at a young age. I loved his music. I have been praying for everyone. We have had a lot of deaths in the last couple of years. We never know what people are going through. Jesse will forever be around us through his music.

  • Minnie Riperton (Great Memories)

    Minnie Riperton was a singer-songwriter best known for her song “Loving You” and the use of the whistle register. She was known to the media as the “Queen of the Whistle Register”.  Minnie wrote songs with her husband, Richard Rudolph. She was very unique and had an unforgettable voice.     Did you know that Minnie studied music, drama and dance at the city’s Abraham Lincoln Center and later contemplated a career in Opera? Minnie was nominated for a Grammy in the category of Best Female R&B vocal performance. Minnie was one of the first celebrities to go public about her breast cancer diagnosis.  She shared her story and was a spokesperson for the American Cancer Society. She touched so many people all over the world, it was sad when she got sick. Her are some of my favorite quotes by her:

    Chadwick Boseman was an actor and playwright. He acted in so many great films. He received multiple accolades, including two Screen Actors Guild Awards, a Golden Globe Award, a Critic’s Choice Movie Award and an Academy Award Nomination. It was an honor of his career to bring King T’Challa to life in Black Panther. He was a really great actor here are some of my favorite films he was in:

    He was a great actor. He played each part very well. Did you know he went to Howard University? When A man can play James Brown, Jackie Robinson, and Black Panther then you know that he is amazing at what he does. He inspired so many people all over the world with his work. It was very sad to hear him leave us so young. Wakanda Forever. Here are some of my favorite quotes by him:

    Natalie Cole was a singer, songwriter, and actress. She was the daughter of singer and jazz pianist Nat King Cole. She won nine Grammy Awards from 21 nominations. She sold over 30 million records worldwide. Some of her songs are:

    Did you know that Natalie Cole pledged the Upsilon chapter of Delta Sigma Theta sorority. A lot of people always talked about how pretty her eyes were. She was a great singer following in her father’s footsteps. She had hard times and turned to drugs. As always, we have to pray for others. We never know what people are going through. Thankful for the memories and her music that she left with us.

    Barbara Walters was an American broadcast journalist and television personality. She was known for her interviewing ability and popularity with viewers. She was a great journalist. She appeared as a host on numerous television programs including Today, the ABC Evening News, 20/20 and The View. Did you know that Barbara  was inducted into the Television Hall of Fame? She received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the NATAS in 2000 and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

    Barbara Walters has a couple of books out so if you are a fan check out her Memoir. It is on my list to read. I can’t wait to learn more about her journey, especially with me being a journalist I can get more tips for my journey. I love reading so can’t wait to dive into this book. Some of my favorite quotes by her are:

    When we talk about Michael Jackson, we talk about a legend that meant so much to the world through his music. Michael Jackson started out young. He and his brothers had the group Jackson 5. I loved the song “Never Can Say Goodbye” , one of my favorites. Michael Jackson was a singer, songwriter, dancer, and philanthropist. He was definitely the “King  of Pop”. Michael Jackson was the king of dancing and he can put on a  great performance. He loved to dance. He came up with dances like moonwalk and the robot. He is the most awarded musician in history.  Some of my favorite songs of his are:

    ·         Thriller

    ·         Wanna Be Startin Somethin’

    ·         Heal the World

    There are so many songs that I can name but those were some of my favorites. Did you know that Michael made an appearance on the United States Negro College Fund’s “Parade of Stars” telethon airing on U.S. television and radio networks, to help raise money to aid 41 historically Black colleges and universities. He also received an award from the UNFC and an honorary doctorate from Fisk University.  Check out some of the books he has and let me know how they are.     Naomi Judd was an actress and singer. She and her daughter Wynonna formed the duo known as the Judd’s which became very successful. They won five Grammys and nine Country Music Association awards. Did you know she was diagnosed with Hepatitis C in 1990 and cured eight years later. One of her highlights in life that she spoke on was when  former president George H.W. Bush asked her to introduce him at his rallies during his campaign for re-election. Here are some of her songs:

    Naomi also wrote a book “River of Time” that talks about depression and more. I haven’t had a chance to read it yet but it is on my list. If you read it already let me know how you liked it. It was sad when she passed away. Depression and mental health are real. We never know what someone is going through. We have to pray for everyone. Even though she went through anxiety, depression and more. She  always was doing things in the community to speak on it to maybe help others going through the same thing.   • Michael K. Williams (Great Memories)

    I had a chance to read Michael Williams’ book “Scenes from My Life” . It was really good. I got to know more about how he grew up and his journey. He was a great actor. Everyone loved him on the HBO drama series “The Wire”. Did you know that he was a dancer before he started acting?  Here are some of the films he played in:

    He also appeared in “Gone Baby Gone” and “12 Years A Slave” that earned him a 2007 NAACP Image award. Music brought him joy. He loves house music. He had a rough life growing up and he turned to drugs to take away some of the pain he had been through. If you are a fan check out his book to learn more about his life and how he got to where he was.  Some of his quotes that I liked are:

    These are some of his Great memories with us watching him in shows and movies. Even though he went through a lot he played his roles. He also did things in the community.   • John Madden (Great Memories)

    John Madden

    John Madden was an American football coach and sportscaster. He won Super Bowl XI as head coach of the Oakland Raiders over the Minnesota Vikings, and after retiring from coaching became a well-known color commentator for NFL telecasts.

    Did you know in 2006 he was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in recognition of his coaching career. He also is known for the long-running Madden NFL video game series. What a gift he was to football. He was definitely the goat for color commentators, he didn’t miss anything.  Some of my favorite quotes by him are:

    “Don’t worry about the horse being blind, just load the wagon”

    “Self-praise is for losers”

    “Well, when you’re playing good football, it’s good football and if you don’t have good football, then you’re not really playing good football”
