  • Survive the Night (Book)

    Book: Survive the night

    Author: Riley Sager

    By: Cece Hymes

This Book was really good. I enjoyed it. It was about a movie-obsessed college student Charlie who is in a car with a stranger who she thinks might be a serial killer. The man is a virtual stranger who she thinks goes to school where she is at. Charlie is trying to get away from a guilt and grief over a murder of her friend.

While Charlie is in the car, she keeps thinking of movies she can’t tell whether she zoned out into a movie or is this real life. She tries to think so hard if her mind is playing tricks with her or is this really the serial killer.  The driver says things here and there to make her think that he definitely is the campus killer.

Things take the wrong turn and things start to hit the fan as she plans her escape and also her revenge for her friend. She misses her friend a lot.

Would you even get in a car with a stranger if you knew the serial killer was out there? Why doesn’t she have a cellphone like everyone else does? If you watch so many movies can you turn everything into movie themes? Would that be cool or scary? I just would be so scared to try to survive the night thinking I might die tonight.

Just some things to think about. I enjoyed this book. If you like a good thriller with some action this is the book for you.

  • Book (White Smoke)

    Book: White Smoke

    Author: Tiffany D Jackson

    By: Cece Hymes

This book was different from the other books by this author. I enjoyed this book. The ending was dry but it was good. It was about a family that moved to start over to get a new start as the saying goes “Change is good, Change is necessary, change is needed. They move into this house that Marigold think it’s haunted and that she keeps thinking about the past. Her family thinks that she may go back to her old ways when her little sister keeps saying things out of her mouth. She sees things , hears things and no one else seems to see.

(Quick funny tip) while I was reading this book I went out of town and Maigold had a phobia of bed bugs. As I kept reading about that phobia I kept looking around the hotel room and bed looking for bed bugs. The book made me keep the lights on all night. Just a funny thought glad that wasn’t the case whewwww but this book had me searching..

This book wasn’t one of her best books but it was good. The whole time had me thinking the whole town knew about this house and something wasn’t right. Marigold was smart and looked into things. Sometimes we all need to go that extra mile and do research. If you are looking for a classic haunted house story you might enjoy this one.

  • Act Your Age, Eve Brown

Book: Act Your Age, Eve Brown

    Author: Talia Hibbett

    By: Cece Hymes

This book was a very good book. I enjoyed reading about Eve Brown and Jacob Wayne. It all started as Eve being all over the place. She is 26 and still staying home with her parents and they help take care of her. She is very smart. She has had plenty of business but not a career. Her parents get on her to get it together and at least hold down a position for a year. Eve leaves and pulls up at this Bed and Breakfast and sees that they are hiring.

Jacob Wayne is the owner of the Bed and Breakfast. He likes to be in control and very demanding of things. He is looking for a chef and very particular on who is going to work there. Eve comes in and she is very firm with him. She is leaving out and as she is about to pull off she doesn’t look back and hits Jacob.

So, she feels guilty and stays to help him out. At first, they both kept throwing a lot of mean shots to each other. Then they get to know each other and fall for one another. Eve brings happiness to the Bed and Breakfast and tries out new ideas.

These two fell in love and the thing I loved about the book is how they communicated. Majority of the time Eve was straight forward of what she wanted and how she wanted things. She was really good at what she does, and she really loved it. She had found something that she really enjoys, and, on the way, she found a friend and a lover. They say Love can come when unexpected it can be days, months, years and sometimes love at first sight. I feel that if you see something you want you go for it. Communication is the key to a lot of things.

Do you think that sometimes you are put in the right place at the right time? Do you think that you can fall in love at first sight? Do you think love has no color? Do you think that being straightforward with a person and letting them know what you want is a good thing? Do you judge a person by their first interaction?

I can’t wait to read more books by this author. I love a great love story. Especially one with some hard times and real life. It had some Juicy things in there also to keep the excitement going. I am hoping there is a part 2. I would love to see how this story ends.

  • All That Really Matters by Nicole Deese

Book: All That Really Matters by Nicole Deese

    By: Cece Hymes

This book was such a good book. Molly McKenenzie was a bright personality and on-tend fashion and beauty social media Influencer. Her manager, who is also her boyfriend, tells her that she has to get to a million views also to do a shoot and advertise for this company to move up. He wants her to volunteer more. To gain an edge on her competitors, she plans to volunteer for the summer at a transitional program for aged-out foster kids, but the program director, Silas Whitaker is giving her a hard time. The Program Director has so many rules and terms for volunteering. It’s like he judges a book by his cover.

Molly has a best friend Val that edits and posts all her videos and has been working with her for years. She has become very close to Molly even though they never met in person. Molly also has a twin brother that’s a pastor that she meets up with once or twice a month. Him and his parents don’t believe in social influencers.

Molly dives into mentoring and really enjoys helping them. She puts a lot of time into it and really gets connected to one of the girls. Her and the manager/boyfriend have a break up over something he wants her to do that she was not willing to do. He tries to turn her whole career into shambles even by taking her best friend Val away.

The mentoring program that she is helping needs to raise money in order to keep things going, Molly gets close to the Program director which he sees her for now they gain a big attraction to each other and work as a team. Something tragic has happened with her career, the girls, the mentoring all at once. Molly finds and tries to figure out who she really is. Salis is right there for her the whole step of the way.

This book showed me so many tips like how to get a following and be organic as a social media influencer. Also it showed me that mentoring and volunteering can do for a person. Also what the youth needs from this community. I also learned to let love find you and to give forgiveness. A lot of people deserve second chances especially if they are trying to change. I loved this book in so many ways. It’s positive and inspiring. I can’t wait to read another book by this author.

  • The Therapist by B.A. Paris

    The Therapist by B.A. Paris

    By: Cece Hymes

This book here had a twist to it. So, Alice and Leo move into a newly renovated house. They had been dating awhile and the distance they had they wanted something closer. So, they move in this house in the circle, a gated community, everything they ever wanted.

Alice wants to get to know her neighbors and see about this house and she finds out that it was a murder/suicide that occurred in this house that her partner kept away from her. Alice finds out that the lady that was murdered, was named Nina the same as her sister that died. She becomes obsessed with trying to figure out what happened.

She asks the neighbors questions, but they all want her to leave it alone. They all want to believe that Nina’s husband killed her, but they all don’t really believe it.  A supposedly detective comes and leave a card saying that he still looking for the real murder. Alice starts hearing things in the house. She starts thinking Nina is watching her and that her soul is there. She also starts being suspicious of her husband, the neighbors and their husbands. She trying to solve a murder while talking to this supposedly detective.

Alice miss so many clues trying to find this murder and that it was a tragic at the end. You would have never thought of it. As she finds out who the person is it also puts her in danger. The whole time I believed that Alice is the one who really needed a therapist. This book was very good. It makes you think about things like the escape room, trying to find clues right under your nose, is it really worth it? Could you stay in a house where someone had died? Could you trust your partner that kept things from you? Could you forgive yourself to just walk away?  Great book and I love reading a lot of this author’s books.

  • The right of Love by Love Belvin

The Series: The Low of Love, The Left of Love, The Right of Love by Love Belvin

    By: Cece Hymes

This series of love was some great books Here is the Third one: The Right of Love

This was the last book of the series. When I tell you, I loved this series. It was so good. Let’s talk about the third one.  So, Kennedi sees a therapist. She goes through the emotions but one thing she knows is all she wants is Isaak. She watches what he does from social media and still loves and does for his family without him knowing. She wants to prove her trust and love to him. She lost her best friend, lover and partner. She wants what her heart wants

Isaak now is living his life but still never gave his heart to anyone else. He still follows and asks about how she is doing. He has been hurt and doesn’t want to move too fast in letting her back in.  He has his family and he been going through a lot of hurt also and pressure.

They work it out and I love this book because no matter what was thrown at them, they made it. They worked at it and they were always friends first. I am glad in this one Kennedi stepped up to ask and to tell what she wanted.  This was definitely an emotionally addictive ride. Just two people who saw the world differently, making their own mistakes, learning life, learning love, breaking each other’s hearts not knowing that all they needed was each other. They finally came to common ground. Glad that she reconnected with the kids and they got married and became one. It wasn’t easy but what relationship is, what life is. We all learn as we go, and we just must find that right person to go through it all with. All relationships I believe your partner should be your best friend. One thing I did learn in this book and series is that communication and expressing yourself is a must in any relationship. Never think you are never good enough for someone. You never know what someone is going through and what they feel.

This series was one of my favorites. It had me on an emotional roller coaster, but it had me wanting to know what’s next. I really enjoyed it and can’t wait to read more books by this author.

  • The low of Love by Love Belvin

The Series: The Low of Love, The Left of Love, The Right of Love by Love Belvin

    By: Cece Hymes

This series of love was some great books Here is the Second one: The Low of Love

This book is the second one of the series. Kennedi and Isaak haven seen each other since he left. They both were too stubborn to reach each other. Kennedi starts a bond with his family, and he doesn’t even know. She has helped his family in a way that was so much needed. She goes to visit and bring so much out of him that no other woman has ever done.

Kennedi is so strong, smart, and amazing. She is just so naïve that everything that’s right under her nose she does not see. She is trying to protect a friendship that is so much more than that. She wants so much more but is so scared to admit it and she just keeps thinking she is not good enough when she is everything that balances him out.

Isaak has all these emotions but doesn’t know how to express his emotions. He never was shown how to love. He has everything he needs but just doesn’t know how to put his family together. He doesn’t know all that is missing from him being gone and not being with the family he created. He is talented in so many ways. He thinks he is not good enough for this woman that really loves him unconditionally.

They get closer and she experiences some love she never experienced before. She went to first base with the man of her dreams. She was inexperienced but willing and ready to learn. Ready to experience and take things to another level. Then she experienced a lot more. She got love and hate at the same time. The trips and the love everything was there but a commitment. A conversation for two people to take what they feel and put it together. They both go through so much and still think they are not good enough for each other.

In this issue I had to ask is communication that hard to really tell someone how you feel? Can you accept someone’s family even when they don’t want that responsibility on you?  Can two people that think differently become one? Do things become too much that you must separate yourself? Why is love so hard?

  • The Left of Love by Love Belvin

The Series: The Low of Love, The Left of Love, The Right of Love by Love Belvin

    By: Cece Hymes

This series of love was some great books let’s start with the first one: The Left of Love

It was about a lady from Lakeside suburb that had always been raised under her parents and godmother who provided for her. She is 21 and taking on college she is determined to learn about her femininity of things. Kennedi is naïve, a good girl who is ready to be a woman. Also, there is a guy named Isaak who is in the streets trying to survive the world and take care of his family. He is a hood guy who is untouchable. His grandmother passed so he keeps his promise to her to go to college. While in college they must do a social experiment with others, and they are placed in a group. Everyone in this group must meet together and get to know each other for this project.

These two Kennedi and Isaak end up spending a lot of time together; they both are brought up differently with different journeys. They both think that the other one is not interested in the other. They both think that each other is not good enough for one another. She is introduced to his family for different reasons in their path. She does some crazy things to try to prove she is a woman and have fun. She wants to fit in. He comes to the rescue to save her from something that could be very dangerous.  They Bond in a way where they open to each other and life.

They both get close but never confess how they feel. He must leave and then there is the kiss. The kiss to love. In this book you think about and ask yourself why it is so hard to communicate. Why do we overthink things when everything is right in our face? How can two people in 3 months from different errors build this bond?

This book was really good cant wait to read the next one. This book was about Two friends starting they own business planning events they score an NFL player as a client. At the beginning they didn’t like the NFL player he always wanted to be in control and be the one to get what he wants. The rules are to never mess with clients to never mix business and pleasure.

The NFL player tries hard to get one of the ladies. In order to stay in the game, she must decide whether she can play by his rules. This book reminds me of Football players, the women, the money and all the extra things that come with it. Can people have two sides of themselves. He has one side he shows the world and the one side to show who he is.  Do you play an Image to stay popular? Do women love being the sideline chick?

So many questions to be asked but this book is mixed with football, relationship and loyalty. Ready to read part 2of this book to see what happens.

Get the book and tell me what you think?
