  • Act Your Age, Eve Brown

Book: Act Your Age, Eve Brown

    Author: Talia Hibbett

This book was a very good book. I enjoyed reading about Eve Brown and Jacob Wayne. It all started as Eve being all over the place. She is 26 and still staying home with her parents and they help take care of her. She is very smart. She has had plenty of business but not a career. Her parents get on her to get it together and at least hold down a position for a year. Eve leaves and pulls up at this Bed and Breakfast and sees that they are hiring.

Jacob Wayne is the owner of the Bed and Breakfast. He likes to be in control and very demanding of things. He is looking for a chef and very particular on who is going to work there. Eve comes in and she is very firm with him. She is leaving out and as she is about to pull off she doesn’t look back and hits Jacob.

So, she feels guilty and stays to help him out. At first, they both kept throwing a lot of mean shots to each other. Then they get to know each other and fall for one another. Eve brings happiness to the Bed and Breakfast and tries out new ideas.

These two fell in love and the thing I loved about the book is how they communicated. Majority of the time Eve was straight forward of what she wanted and how she wanted things. She was really good at what she does, and she really loved it. She had found something that she really enjoys, and, on the way, she found a friend and a lover. They say Love can come when unexpected it can be days, months, years and sometimes love at first sight. I feel that if you see something you want you go for it. Communication is the key to a lot of things.

Do you think that sometimes you are put in the right place at the right time? Do you think that you can fall in love at first sight? Do you think love has no color? Do you think that being straightforward with a person and letting them know what you want is a good thing? Do you judge a person by their first interaction?

I can’t wait to read more books by this author. I love a great love story. Especially one with some hard times and real life. It had some Juicy things in there also to keep the excitement going. I am hoping there is a part 2. I would love to see how this story ends.

  • All That Really Matters by Nicole Deese

Book: All That Really Matters by Nicole Deese

This book was such a good book. Molly McKenenzie was a bright personality and on-tend fashion and beauty social media Influencer. Her manager, who is also her boyfriend, tells her that she has to get to a million views also to do a shoot and advertise for this company to move up. He wants her to volunteer more. To gain an edge on her competitors, she plans to volunteer for the summer at a transitional program for aged-out foster kids, but the program director, Silas Whitaker is giving her a hard time. The Program Director has so many rules and terms for volunteering. It’s like he judges a book by his cover.

Molly has a best friend Val that edits and posts all her videos and has been working with her for years. She has become very close to Molly even though they never met in person. Molly also has a twin brother that’s a pastor that she meets up with once or twice a month. Him and his parents don’t believe in social influencers.

Molly dives into mentoring and really enjoys helping them. She puts a lot of time into it and really gets connected to one of the girls. Her and the manager/boyfriend have a break up over something he wants her to do that she was not willing to do. He tries to turn her whole career into shambles even by taking her best friend Val away.

The mentoring program that she is helping needs to raise money in order to keep things going, Molly gets close to the Program director which he sees her for now they gain a big attraction to each other and work as a team. Something tragic has happened with her career, the girls, the mentoring all at once. Molly finds and tries to figure out who she really is. Salis is right there for her the whole step of the way.

This book showed me so many tips like how to get a following and be organic as a social media influencer. Also it showed me that mentoring and volunteering can do for a person. Also what the youth needs from this community. I also learned to let love find you and to give forgiveness. A lot of people deserve second chances especially if they are trying to change. I loved this book in so many ways. It’s positive and inspiring. I can’t wait to read another book by this author.
