    Traveled to Cancun

    By: Cece Hymes

I had a chance to go to Cancun with some friends. I had a great time. I love beaches and the beach there was so nice. I know I don’t speak their language, so some things were hard to understand from some people that we met there. We did get a chance to meet some people from Canada which was nice, and we still keep in touch with them. When we went to Cancun we got on the ATV, Ziplining, and we also jumped in the cave. I can’t remember what kind of cave it was, but it was cold and deep and kind of scary.

Let me tell you the story, so this was my first time on the ATV. I didn’t think to look at the gas engine, but I was in the middle of woods following everyone and I was towards the back, and it ran out of gas. OMG lol. I was glad it was 2 people behind me that waited until someone came back to help me. Now that was a moment. We also got a chance to eat at the different restaurants on the resort and go out to the club they had. It was a mixture of different people from all over the world. I was glad to have some friends that are adventurous and don’t mind trying new things.  It did rain one time out there, but we still enjoyed the resort. The beach was relaxing but there were a lot of different animals that I never saw before coming up trying to get food.

This vacation was much needed, and I would love to go back and see more of their country. Such an experience.

Have you been to Cancun? If so, how was your experience?

  • Traveled to Grand Turk, Turk, Bahamas, DR, Amber Cove and Half Moon Cay

Traveled to Grand Turk, Turk, Bahamas, DR, Amber Cove and half Moon Cay

    By: Cece Hymes

My second cruise I went on was with Carnival. The First one was Royal, this one was with Carnival. I think Carnival is more of a fun ship. Royal is laid back like a family ship. On this cruise we went on a tour. The camels were out walking up to us lol. The water was beautiful, and it was hot. I couldn’t enjoy the trip like I wanted to because of the company I had with me. Sometimes you have to take trips with people you know that like some of the things you like and want to have fun. I relaxed and just enjoyed the water.

I always take a trip on my birthday to go somewhere different. Cruises are fun but I actually love going to the resort. Once I am on the boat after a couple days I be wanting to be off the water. Don’t get me wrong, on cruises you do have things to do. We watched the game shows, played games with others, and we also went to the casino on the boat. You know I always get souvenirs because it’s cheaper and the money is different.  I know it is hot over there, but the beach is very beautiful.

Make sure you take them on vacations and enjoy life. I know carnival is more like a party cruise and royal more laid back but they both are fun and it’s nice to see the different places, they have an island where it seems like it’s just for the tourists. On the Island it had volleyball, water events like snorkeling and canoeing. If you have never been on a Cruise, you have to experience it at least once. They are making new ships with more on it to do and more fancy. Can’t wait to see what these new ships look like.

Have you been on Cruise? How was your experience? Which cruise line did you go on?

    Interview with DJ Kash

    By: Where it Begins

    Q. How did you come up with the name DJ Kash?

    A. I’ve had that name since I was a kid playing basketball.

    Q. What made you want to become a DJ?

    A. I’ve always loved music and looked up to a DJ by the name of Todd Terry. I saw the success he had so it made me realize that I can make a living doing it.

    Q. What are one of your best experiences working at Hot 107.9 as a DJ?

    A. Having a set on a birthday bash, that was amazing because I never got a chance to go to a birthday bash because I was working for the rival station and my first time at a birthday bash, I was djing.

    Q. What differentiate you from other DJ’s?

    A. My versatility, I can be djing a trap spot then the next day do an upscale event then the next day DJ a reggae/dancehall party.

    Q. Can you give advice to upcoming DJs?

    A. Work relentlessly and don’t give up, no gig is too small or too big.

  • An exercise in understanding yourself

    An exercise in understanding yourself

What words do you need to hear right now? Write them down. What do you love about who you are? Write it down. What lessons have you learned from the challenges you’ve overcome? Keep writing. You have the power to give yourself what you need in any moment. Remind yourself of your own resilience, greatness, and power. Who better to teach you how extraordinary you are than you.
