    Greetings, amazing community members!

Happy February, the month of love and self-discovery! As we dive into the second month of the year, let’s take a moment to reflect on the incredible experiences we shared in January.

Our New Year kicked off with a bang as we embarked on a journey of self-reflection with Vision Jars. Each jar held the potential for personal growth and exciting adventures. I’m thrilled to share a glimpse into my own jar revelations. For my self-love goal, I set my sights on enhancing my blogging skills – a journey that promises exciting discoveries and creative expression.

Speaking of adventures, I treated myself to a cinematic delight by fulfilling my jar’s directive to take myself to the movies. “The Color Purple” musical was an absolute gem, and if you’re a fan of musicals and the classic movie, you’re in for a treat! The stellar performances left me in awe, and I’m sure you’d love it too.

Another jar revelation led me to engage in meaningful outreach. I spent time at a local senior home, contributing to their community and making lasting connections. Bingo with the residents brought joy and laughter, creating memories that warm my heart.

As we step into this new month, the anticipation builds for fresh goals and self-love adventures. If you’re feeling inspired, we invite you to join us on this exciting journey! Share your aspirations and let’s support each other in making February extraordinary.

On a different note, I’ve been relishing my time at Crunch in Tucker – a fantastic gym where I’ve been breaking a sweat and enjoying invigorating Zumba classes. Trust me; it’s a fitness haven worth exploring!

Last but certainly not least, our book club delved into the captivating world of “All the Light We Cannot See” in January. If you haven’t joined CeCe’s Book Club yet, you’re missing out on thought-provoking reads and engaging discussions. Find us on Facebook and Instagram for more details!

  • The Last Thing He Told Me (Book)

Book: The Last Thing He Told Me

    Author: Laura Dave

    By: Cece Hymes

I stayed up late last night to finish this book. It was really good. It was about a lady named Hannah who made wood and She met a Guy named Owen. Owen had a daughter whose mother was killed at a young age. His daughter was so used to just her and her dad she really didn’t want to share her dad or let anyone in her circle.

Owen and Hannah were in love and decided to get married. Hannah didn’t know too much about Owen’s background, but she knew bits of pieces that Owen shared. Then something tragic happened at Owen Job and Owen went missing. He left one message for Hannah and that was to protect his daughter. She didn’t know what it meant but she wanted to know what was going on.

The FBI and the Marshalls were investigating her and she was looking for clues to figure out what was going on. Owen wasn’t the person she thought he was. She tried to think of little things that happened in their life where she can go back and find clues. Hannah and Bailey goes to Austin Texas to try to find clues and to see if some memory would come back to the daughter of when she was younger. They take this journey together and it brings them closer little by little.

As they go to Austin Texas to try to figure out the past and look for clues, they find some of Bailey mother side of the family. Hannah does not know who to trust on this journey so she just has to trust herself and find things and research.

I don’t want to tell more of the book. I don’t want to give it up but it also has a series on Apple TV that I will have to watch to see if I like the movie like I liked the book. I didn’t care for the ending too much, I wanted more but hoping for a part 2.

If you saw the movie or read the book, what did you think of it?

  • Lock Every Door (Book)

    Book: Lock Every Door

    Author: Riley Sager

    By: Cece Hymes

This was my 3rd book by this author. This book started off a little slow for me, but the middle and end were great and I did not expect how it ended. It was about a girl named Jules who lost her job, boyfriend, place and just seemed like nothing was going right for her. She gets a call to be an apartment sitter and make good money just babysitting the Bartholomew. She told her best friend who warned her not to go but it just sounded too good to be true.

She read stories and heard so many creepy stories about living at this place. As she moves into the apartment and meets other apartment sitters. She hears so many sounds and the place just seems to be creepy. The people don’t converse with others, and she finds different things in the house that seem strange.

Jules gets to be friends with one of the other apartment sitters and then she goes missing. She tries to research to see what really happened to the other apartment sitter. I can’t tell much more of the book.

It is a twist to it, and it is a page turner. If you have checked out the book let me know what you thought of the book.

  • Deaf Utopia

    Book: Deaf Utopia

    Author:  Nyle DiMarco

    By: Cece Hymes

Got a chance to read this book by Nyle DiMarco. I don’t know what made me pick this book. I didn’t even know who he was, but I wanted to learn more about his journey. This book taught me more about his life and the deaf community. I know in school I learned the alphabet in sign language and glad I do. This book taught me  to learn more about their community and about their life.

Nyle DiMarco is amazing, he did not let anything stop him from being him and reaching his dreams. He won on the reality shows America’s Next Top Model and Dancing with the Stars. He started and didn’t know anything about modeling and dancing but took a chance and learned what to do and put his all into it.

His Mom was so strong and raised her 3 boys to be the best men and to show them that they are awesome and just like everyone else. They can do anything they put their mind to. I love to read about people’s journeys and what they have been through. Nyle and his family have been through a lot but no matter what they did they did not give up.

I also learned in this book that we all should treat people right and with positive vibes. It’s a lot of people that can teach you a lot about the culture and the community. Have an open mind. Also, I love that Nyle is happy with who he is and is very creative.
