  • End-of-Year Energy: Action Movies, Manifesting & Atlanta Nights

    Hey hey everyone ✨

I hope you’re having a beautiful December. With only a couple of weeks left before the new year, it’s that reflective, exciting space where we start thinking about goals, ideas, bucket lists, and what we want to carry (or leave) behind. So let me catch you up on a little of everything — movies, books, city vibes, and giving back — Cece style.

🎬 Cece on the Scenes: Movie Night Catch-Up

I finally watched The Marksman, an older movie but brand new to me — and honestly, it surprised me in the best way. Starring Liam Neeson, the film follows a quiet rancher who suddenly finds himself protecting a young boy from cartel assassins. What starts as a simple act of kindness turns into a gritty, high-stakes road trip across the Southwest.

The action is steady, the tension is real, and it has that neo-Western feel that blends heart with hard choices. Since I’m always here for a movie with action, I’m giving this one a solid 3 out of 5 stars ⭐️.

Even though it originally dropped in 2021, The Marksman recently found new life on streaming and hit #1 on Netflix, proving that some stories just need the right moment to shine. Definitely worth adding to your watch list.

📖 Cece Book Club: Manifesting with Intention

Next up — Cece Book Club ✨📚

I finally finished How to Manifest: Make Your Dreams a Reality in 40 Days by Laura Chung. This one took me a little while to complete, but that was part of the process. The goal is one chapter a day for 40 days, and it really encourages you to slow down, reflect, and be intentional.

Journaling and manifesting have truly become a part of my life, so this book showed up right on time. It’s not about rushing — it’s about alignment. If you’re focused on growth, clarity, and calling in the life you desire, this is definitely a great read to add to your list.

🏙️ Cece in the City: Dancing, Downtown, & Me Time

Now let’s talk Cece in the City 💃🏽✨

I had the chance to step out for Old School Saturday, and while I hadn’t been in a while, it reminded me why those nights are always a vibe. Good music, good energy, and even better company. I love being around friends who actually dance, laugh, and enjoy the moment — not just sit around people-watching.

The event was hosted at the Hyatt Regency in Atlanta, which is such a beautiful hotel and always adds to the experience.

This weekend also gave me something just as important — me time. I took a day to relax, think, and journal. No rush, no noise — just space to reflect. Time is flying, and with 2026 on the horizon, it was exactly what my spirit needed.

❤️ Giving Back: The 6th Annual Giveback

As we head into the holidays, giving back remains close to my heart.

It’s that time of year again — The 6th Annual Giveback for the Unhoused Community, led by DJ Ms. Eclectic, who shows up every single year with love and purpose.

On Christmas Day, essential bags will be distributed, including:

    • Wet wipes

    • Hand warmers (Hot Hands)
    • Water

  • A Chilly Sunday with Cece: Movies, Books & Music Magic

    🌟 Happy Sunday, Beautiful People!

I hope everyone’s doing amazing and staying cozy — can you believe this is the last week of October? 🕸️🍁 We’re about to step into 2026 before we know it! The weather’s officially giving boot season and sweater weather vibes, and I’m here for it.

Now, let’s jump into a little “Cece on the Scene” update — where movies, books, candles, and good vibes meet! ✨

🎬 Movie of the Week: “Alice” (2022)

So, I finally watched Alice starring Keke Palmer and Common — and wow, what a ride. It might be an older movie, but it’s new to me!

This 2022 thriller tells the story of Alice, an enslaved woman who escapes a plantation only to discover it’s actually 1973. 🤯 She crosses paths with activist Frank (played by Common), and together they journey toward truth and liberation.

While critics gave it a low 29% (ouch 😅), audiences came through with a warmer 59%, especially praising Keke’s performance — and rightfully so! She carried that film with strength and fire. 🔥

For me, it’s a 3 out of 5 stars — not the best, but still worth the watch if you love stories about resilience and awakening.

📚 Book of the Week: Till Summer Do Us Part by Meghan Quinn

Whew… this book had everything! A little funny, a little sad, a little romance — the perfect blend I didn’t know I needed right now. 💕

If you’ve read Meghan Quinn before, you know she never disappoints. This one reminded me exactly why she stays on my shelf. 📖✨

This film is more than a love story—it’s a reminder that love is real, joy is worth waiting for, and dreams are worth chasing. 💕 Don’t settle, don’t give up, keep believing. Have you seen it yet? 🍿👀

Over in Cece Book Club, I wanted to highlight one of Kennedy Ryan’s gems. She never fails to pull me in with her storytelling. This one gets ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 from me. 📚✨ Check it out 👉 Read here

  • 🌿 Park Life & Peace: My Favorite Nature Escapes in the City

We all need a little peace in our lives—I know I do! Living in the city has its excitement, but sometimes the best recharge comes from trading concrete for greenery. Over time, I’ve found some favorite parks and mountains that give me that perfect mix of fresh air, history, and adventure. Let me take you on a walk through a few of my go-to spots:

    1. Arabia Mountain
Arabia Mountain isn’t just a hike, it’s an experience. Part of the Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area, this place is steeped in history and culture. From old granite quarries to sacred grounds, you can feel the stories in the stones. My hike there wasn’t too tough—though the long bridge from the parking lot had me ready to see that summit!Once I reached the top, the view was worth every step. Quiet, beautiful, and almost otherworldly.
Cece Tip: Go around sunrise or sunset—the light hits the granite in the most magical way, and the peaceful vibe is unmatched.

    2. Kennesaw Mountain
Kennesaw isn’t just a mountain—it’s a piece of Civil War history. With over 17 miles of trails and remnants of battle sites, this place blends natural beauty with lessons from the past. The first time I went, I didn’t make it to the top (don’t judge me 😅), but even the lower trails had me soaking up the peace. Next time, I’m determined to conquer it.
Cece Tip: Pack some water and comfy shoes—the trail is long, and history is better enjoyed when you’re not out of breath too early!

    3. Stone Mountain
Ah, Stone Mountain—the classic Atlanta challenge. I’ve been up, down, and all around it a few times, and let me tell you, that incline is no joke! It’s steep, it’s sweaty, but when you get to the top, it feels like you’ve conquered the world. Add in the history (and a bit of controversy around the carvings), and it’s a mountain that always sparks conversation.
Cece Tip: If hiking isn’t your thing, the Skyride cable car gives you the same breathtaking view—minus the workout!

    4. Piedmont Park
Piedmont Park is the heart of Atlanta green space. It’s massive, lively, and full of surprises. From farmers markets to music festivals, this park is where culture and nature collide. One day you might find yourself lounging with a book under a shady tree, and the next, dancing at a festival with thousands of people. That’s what I love about it—it’s always alive.
Cece Tip: Visit during the Dogwood Festival or Jazz Fest—it’s the best mix of city energy and park vibes.

    5. Lullwater Park
Tucked away near Emory, Lullwater Park feels like a hidden gem. With its scenic bridge, quiet trails, and a small but charming waterfall, it’s one of those places where you can truly hear yourself think. The park stretches wide, giving you space to just wander and get lost in your thoughts. For me, it’s pure tranquility.
Cece Tip: Bring a journal—something about the sound of that waterfall makes the words flow easier.

✨ Whether it’s climbing steep mountains or just sitting by the water, these spots remind me that peace isn’t always far away—you just have to step into nature and let it work its magic.

  • Goodbye July, Hello August 🌻✨

Whew, July was a mix of highs and lows, but I’m still standing — and for that, I’m grateful. Even in the ups and downs, I made space to get back to doing things I love. I got out more, took some beautiful nature walks, captured moments with my camera, and slowly started easing back into the media world. It felt good to reconnect with that side of me again.

  • Cece in the City Takes on the 2025 MLB All-Star Celebrity Softball Game

This weekend was one for the books! I had the chance to attend the 2025 MLB All-Star Celebrity Softball Game, and let me tell you—it did not disappoint. I’ve been saying I wanted to get back outside more, dust off my camera, and dive deeper into the media space… and this was the perfect way to kick that off.

From the moment I stepped into the stadium, the energy was electric. The lineup was stacked with celebs like Quavo, Prince Royce, Young Miko, Storm Reid, Druski, Jermaine Dupri, Kandi Burruss, Eladio, Funny Marco, Ronnie DeVoe, Wisin, Jerry Lorenzo, Myke Towers, Jordan Chiles, Maria Taylor, and more. It was like a star-studded family reunion on the field!

I had some prime seats (shoutout to DJ Ms. Eclectic for getting me out there—she knows I’m serious about tapping more into sports and networking). The game was fun, the vibes were right, and the weather, although hot, was totally manageable.

Highlight of the day? Snagging photos with Quavo, Ronnie DeVoe, Funny Marco, and Prince Royce—yes, you read that right! 📸

The media setup was a little chaotic, but we pivoted through and still got great footage.

This event reminded me why I love doing what I do. Long day? Yes. Worth it? Absolutely. So don’t be surprised when you see Cece in the City popping up at more games and sporting events—this is just the beginning.

Stay tuned, because the journey is getting real sporty over here! ⚾🎤📸

  • A Weekend of Memories, Music & Moments

    Hey y’all!

This weekend was one for the books — a blend of emotions, culture, family time, and smooth jazz vibes. First, I want to pause and say Happy Heavenly Birthday to my beautiful mom. Although she’s no longer here with us on earth, I still keep our little tradition alive: I grab a bunch of balloons and release them into the sky with love. It’s my way of saying, “I’m thinking of you, always.” She’s the reason I keep going, and moments like these remind me just how much I miss her every single day.

To celebrate life and keep our spirits lifted, my daughters and I headed out for one of our special weekend adventures. We take turns choosing what we do — and this time, it was one of my daughters’ picks. She chose a unique gem called Gio Am Nhac in Doraville, GA. This little shop was filled with a mix of treasures — music, trinkets, and vibes. Our rule: everyone had to pick one item. I ended up choosing a green bracelet. If you know me, you know I love the color green — it’s calming, vibrant, and reminds me of growth and peace.

After that, our foodie hearts led us to Paris Mi Banh, where I tried their pâté pork roll croissant. Let me just say — different, but interesting. I’m all about stepping out of my comfort zone and embracing different cultures through food, and this spot definitely gave me a new experience!

But wait — my weekend didn’t stop there.

On Saturday night, I had the pleasure of seeing the legendary Gerald Albright live at the Fayetteville Amphitheater. If you’re a jazz lover, you already know — he never disappoints. This was my second time seeing him, but my first time at this venue. The atmosphere was beautiful, and the music? Soul-soothing. Yes, it was hot out, but shoutout to my friend who brought neck fans — lifesavers! If you don’t have one yet, check Amazon ASAP and thank me later.

So that was my weekend — filled with love, family, culture, and jazz. What about you? How did you spend your weekend? Tried any new places, caught any good shows, or had a special moment with someone you love?

Drop it in the comments — I’d love to hear from you.

    With love and city adventures,

  • 3rd Annual Bowling Tournament at Pin Strikes

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of attending the 3rd Annual Bowling Tournament at Pin Strikes Bowling Alley, an incredible event supporting the Yusaf Baber Foundation and 21 Reasons to Give Foundation. These organizations are doing amazing work in the community, and it’s always a joy to witness their impact firsthand.

The energy was electric, with a fantastic turnout of people coming together for a great cause. One of the highlights? Meeting the legendary Asante Samuel! Last year, I had the opportunity to meet Jerome Baker at the event, and I was thrilled to see him return. Both are phenomenal athletes and even better role models.

I couldn’t be prouder of Yusaf Baber and Josh Powell for putting together such a meaningful event. It’s inspiring to see their dedication, and I’m already looking forward to next year’s tournament!

What made this year even more special was having two of my cousins join me for the first time. They had an amazing time, snapping plenty of pictures, networking with incredible people, and soaking in the positive vibes.

It was a night of strikes, connections, and giving back—exactly the kind of event that reminds me why I love supporting organizations making a difference. Can’t wait for the 4th Annual next year!
