    DMX

    By: Cece Hymes

Earl Simmons, known as DMX, was a legend. I got a chance to read his book “E.A.R.L The Autobiography of DMX”. It was a great book, I learned more about his life and journey. Even though he had demons in his head he always would pray. He would give homeless people money; pray for everyone. You could tell he had a big heart. Did you know that he was the first artist to debut an album at No. 1 five times in a row on the Billboard 200 charts? Here are some of the movies he played in:

    ·         Belly, Romeo Must Die

    ·         Exit Wounds

    ·         Cradle 2 the Grave

Some of my favorite songs by him:

    ·         X Gon Give It to Ya

    ·         Ruff Ryders Anthem

    ·         What these Bit**** Want

    ·         Slippin

    ·         Lord Give Me a Sign

    ·         What’s My Name

    ·         Get at Me Dog

DMX was a beast, and he would rap or go against anyone anywhere.  He had a hard childhood and life growing up. He had a big impact on Hip-Hop. Some of his quotes that I liked are:

    ·         “I just find myself happy with the simple things”

    ·         “Anything that’s not positive, I don’t have the energy to focus on it”

    ·         “I know I may have done some bad things, but I’m not a bad person”

Make sure you check out his book, it is really good. What was your favorite moment of DMX? What was your favorite song? Drop a comment below also follow me @Cece.atl

    Q. Tell everyone who you are and what you do?

    A. First, thank you for having me. Who I am is a complicated question, but I’m an entrepreneur, a musician and an audio engineer amongst other things.

    Q. How would you define the music you create?

    A. I would describe my music as real Hip-Hip. I’m from New York and I grew up in the 90s and the 2000s. I feel like, at that time, we had a lot lyricism. The people coming out then had a good time, but they were also still actual artists. Some would call what I do conscious hip-hop, but I just consider myself a hip-hop artist.

    Q. What has been your greatest accomplishment you’ve received in your career?

    A. When someone tells me they can relate to my song and it gave them a different perspective, or made them feel like they weren’t alone, that’s what really makes me feel accomplished. As an artist, that is all that I can ask for if my music actually helps and changes lives.

    Interview with M.O Littles

    By: Where It Begins

    Q. Tell us more about who M.O. Littles the Hip-Hop artist from Toronto is?

    A. I am a Toronto based, Hip-Hop artist who has been lucky enough to perform my music in over countries around the world. I’ve also had the opportunity to do shows and be on songs with the likes of Machine Gun Kelly, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Merkules, Madchild and Celph Titled & Apathy, to name a few.

    Q. What or who influenced you to get into music?

    A. The first time I heard Hip-Hop music was Maestro Fresh Wes’ “Drop the Needle” when I was 10 years old. That was a defining moment in my life and started me on a lifelong pursuit. I’ve had many influences throughout my years of making music, however, Tupac was the biggest during my formative years.

    Q. How is the music in Toronto different from the U.S. music?

    A. The music, itself, in Toronto isn’t all that much different than the U.S. because of the internet, we all get instant access to new music so things that are trending in the U.S., or anywhere else in the world, are simultaneously happening here as well. That being said, artists who aren’t necessarily following trends and creating music that is more based in their reality, can definitely come up with their own sound.

    Q. What are some of your other hobbies?

    A. I’ve always been into photography and have been working a lot more on it recently.

    Q. What is one of your best experiences or accomplishments you had being an artist?

    A. The greatest moments, as an artist, are always receiving messages from fans saying that my music has helped them in some way. Nothing is more rewarding.
