  • March Moments: Movies, Books, Kindness & Memories 💚

Hey readers, and welcome to March! 🌸 The month where the days start getting longer, the air feels a little warmer, and we begin to shake off the winter blues. Spring is slowly making its way in, and with it comes fresh energy, new adventures, and of course… another edition of Cece in the City On the Scene.

This month has already been filled with movies, books, travel moments, good food, and heartfelt memories. Let’s get into it.

🎬 Cece On the Scene: Movie Review

Recently, I had the chance to watch The Wrecking Crew, and let me tell you—it definitely delivered on the action.

If you know me, you know I love a good action movie. Explosions, suspense, intense fight scenes… count me in! I’m giving this one a solid 4 out of 5 stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

And can we talk about Jason Momoa for a second? Whew! He’s always been one of my favorites since seeing him as Aquaman in the Aquaman franchise. He brings that same powerful presence to every role he plays.

If you’re an action fan like me, this is definitely one to add to your watch list.

    📚 Cece’s Book Review

Now let’s talk books—because you know Cece never skips the reading list.

I recently finished The Book of Alchemy by Suleika Jaouad, and it was such a powerful and thoughtful read. I previously read another one of her books, which inspired me to pick this one up.

Her writing has a way of blending reflection, healing, and personal growth in such a beautiful way. This book encourages readers to slow down, think deeply, and explore their own personal transformation.

My rating? 4 out of 5 stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

    ❤️ A Personal Moment

This week was also an emotional one for me.

I had to travel home for the funeral of my oldest brother. Losing someone you love is never easy, especially when they pass at such a young age. He will truly be missed.

I wrote him a letter and said my goodbyes.

    Rest in peace, big bro.

Even in the sadness, I’m grateful for the opportunity to reconnect with family and friends I hadn’t seen in years. Sometimes moments like these remind us just how important love and connection really are.

    ❄️ Snow in March?

While I was in Washington, D.C., something surprising happened—it started snowing in March!

I was shocked. One minute we were walking around and the next thing you know, snowflakes were falling. Meanwhile back home in Atlanta, the temperatures were in the 70s.

Needless to say, I’ll definitely be going back to D.C. when the weather warms up.

But I’m thankful for the trip and even more thankful that I made it there and back safely.

🍤 Cece Eats: Road Trip Bites

Of course, you know Cece always finds something good to eat on the road.

On the way to D.C., we stopped in North Carolina and tried Hwy 55 Burgers Shakes & Fries. It reminded me a lot of Steak ‘n Shake with that classic American diner vibe. I ordered the shrimp, and it was actually pretty good!

While in D.C., we also checked out Miss. Toya’s Creole House. Now let me tell you… the seafood lover in me was very happy. I ordered the gumbo and crab egg rolls, and they did not disappoint.

If you know me, you know I love seafood, so that meal definitely hit the spot.

📖 My Poetry Book Is Out!

Before I go, I have to remind you about something very close to my heart.

My poetry book Poems of Passion & Purpose is officially published! 🎉

This book is filled with raw emotion, purpose, and heartfelt reflections. I truly poured my soul into every page.
