Q. Tell everyone who Mike Bend is?
A. Mike Bend is a cancer, a fun-loving guy and believes in showing people the wonderful time.
Q. What or who inspired you to do comedy?
A. My grandmother inspired me to do comedy. She’s been funny all my life.
Q. What is one of your biggest accomplishments?
A. My biggest accomplishments were people paying me 15,000 to perform my show that I wrote in the back of my room on a piece of paper and saw it come to life and people pay me $15,000 for that.
Q. I see you was a guest appearance on the Rickey Smiley TV show. How was that experience?
A. I owe a lot of my career to Rickey Smiley. That was the first live television sitcom that I was a part of, and I got a taste of what TV Cinema is really is?

A. My style is VERY different! I love an edgy chick look! My stylist loves to dress me in edgy contemporary looks! I love difference liking pieces that you don’t see everywhere!

A. My past, family and my fans inspired me to be the person I am today! Every one of these individuals have some sort of input in who I am today!

Q. Tell us more about who Jay Dale is?
A. I’m a young man from Detroit Michigan. I grew up loving the game of basketball but after being exposed to the streets my life took a turn. At the age of 23 I was sentenced to 4 years in prison, but I didn’t let my circumstances stop me from changing my future.
Q. Who or what inspired you to be an athlete trainer?
A. What inspired me to be an athlete trainer was working with Robert Easter. Who is a professional boxer. After seeing how good I was training him. I knew I could work with more athletes and meet their fitness goals.
Q. Tell us about your business Design a Body?
A. Design a Body was created while incarcerated. Knowing it would be hard to get a job and not wanting to work for nobody. I decided to become a personal trainer and make my own fitness brand. A brand I knew could help people meet their fitness goals while building a legacy for myself.

“I’ve always loved singing from a young age. My mother always said when I was a baby she’d have to walk and sing to me so I would fall asleep. She probably planted a seed there. My music teachers, God bless them, were some of the early ones as well to see that potential.”
Q. How did you get into the industry?
A. I started off in this industry as a background vocalist. Honestly if my life had gone any different even in the slightest, I probably would’ve ended up in a different lane, but college really opened up the doors for me and gave me the opportunity to cross paths with some brilliant people who helped me to get where I am now.
Q. Who’s been an inspiration to you?
A. Firstly my husband. I see his drive and his ambition and the sacrifices he’s taking to get where God wants him to. It’s amazing. My mother, her resilience and strength I’ve witnessed all these years has always been inspiring. These days our local artists are breaking so many boundaries. The ones I know personally, like Nathanael, Sherwin, Mekaiel, the ones that gave me a chance like Positive and Mention, and so many others I can’t help but be inspired by our own.
Q. What advice can you give others that want to get into the industry?
A. Be wise about every decision you make. You may slip up sometimes but even then, the decisions you make. You may slip up sometimes but even then, the decisions you make to get back up, let it be made in wisdom. Never ever stop seeking God about every move you make and don’t be discouraged. I’ve been there but then you realize it’s never smooth sailing but know the God you serve has great plans for you.
Q. What are some of your hobbies?
A. I won’t really call it a hobby, but I really enjoy watching HGTV and Food Network. Somehow, I’m able to clear my mind while watching. If that doesn’t work, then I’ll find a concert to watch and be inspired.
