  • Sailing into a New Adventure: My First Cruise Experience

In 2014, I decided to shake things up for my birthday and try something different—my very first cruise! Royal Caribbean to the Bahamas, with two of my friends by my side. It was an unforgettable trip, full of sun, sea, and so much fun!

The Bahamas were absolutely stunning—the water was crystal clear, and even though the heat was intense, the relaxation was on another level. We explored museums, shopped around, and of course, picked up souvenirs for the family. The currency was different, so that added a little extra adventure to our shopping spree!

One of the best parts? Reuniting with a friend I hadn’t seen since 9th grade. It was amazing catching up, vibing together, and sharing the experience. The cruise ship itself was like a floating party! There was always something happening—great food, dancing, and plenty of opportunities to meet new people. We hit a few different stops along the way, but the simple joy of being out on the ocean, soaking up the sun, was unforgettable.

And let’s talk about Jet Skiing! My first time, and wow—what a thrill! It was equal parts fun and terrifying, especially when hitting those waves. I held on for dear life, and by the end of it, I was sore but laughing. Totally worth it!

We ported from Miami, so we had some time to explore the city and relax on the beach. Miami has a vibe all its own, and I can’t wait to go back and spend more time there. This trip made me promise myself that from then on, every birthday would be spent traveling somewhere new. Whether it’s a different state or a whole new country, the world is too big to stay in one place!

What about you? Tell me about your first cruise! Which cruise line did you sail with, and where did you go?

  • Highlighting Jerome Baker

For the month of July, I’m highlighting some amazing celebrities I’ve met and the positive things I enjoy about them. We often hear the negative and the drama, but let’s shift the focus to the good stuff!

Day 31: I had the incredible opportunity to meet Jerome Baker, the linebacker for the Seahawks, and he was really cool and nice! Jerome is not only excelling on the field but also making a big impact off the field. He’s active in the community and opening new businesses, showing his dedication to giving back.

Jerome used to play for the Miami Dolphins, and it’s fantastic to see him doing big things and enjoying life. Today, I want to give him his flowers and tell him to keep inspiring people through football and mentoring the youth. Keep up the great work, Jerome!

    Q. Tell everyone who you are and what you do?

    A. Hello, my name is Jay. I am a PR Rep and I live in Miami. I am from Australia. I started about 16 years ago as a musician/magician and this is what spring boarded me to. The point where I had millions of views online and really started to shine.

    Q. What is a big challenge for you?

    A. Just being too handsome! Ha Ha. I said this before I have always tried to do everything myself. There are good and bad things about trying to take on all the weight. So, I need to allow other people to come into my ship and show me other ways of doing things. Also, to allow my ego not to come into play.

    Q. What message would you like to give out?

    A. Every time you hit a wall ask yourself who is telling you that and you say I am telling myself that. Remember words will block you and you really have to be present to it. We need to condition ourselves to not talk ourselves out of things.

    Interview with Emjay

    Q. Tell everyone who Emjay is?

    A. Emjay is an example of someone who has always pursued his dreams, never giving up no matter how many times he’s fallen down. Emjay is a person who believes no matter what you go through excuses are not acceptable; you must fight for what you believe in. if there’s a will there’s a way. I believe in life there’s good and here’s bad you get what you put in, without the pain there’s no gain. Remain humble, stay thankful, and enjoy the ride to success. Falling in love with the process is the most beautiful part of it all.

    Q. How has your experience been on Love and Hip-Hop Miami?

    A. Love and Hip-Hop Miami has been both a great and interesting experience for me. The show and everything that came with it has helped bring awareness to me as a person, but the interesting part is not being in control of editing and how the people view me on the show. I understand that’s all a part of reality TV.

    Q. I see you have a single “Mae Love” tell me more about this song?

    A. My new single “Make Love” really means a lot to me because I consider this song to be real R&B. I feel music has been missing the real essence of R&B music, the focus has been Hip-Hop for so many years and I love Hip-Hop but it’s time for the true R&B wave to come back around and my new single “Make Love” is definitely the new wave.

    Q. What is one of the hardest things you had to deal with being on Love and Hip-Hop Miami?

    A. I think some of the hardest things I had to deal with on the show would be exposing my relationship and having it vulnerable to the twists and turns of editing, and not being able to showcase my music and artistry.

Back in 2014 was my first cruise. I am older now so I wanted to do something different for my birthday so I decided to go on a cruise. 2 of my friends went with me. We did a cruise on Royal Caribbean to the Bahamas. It was nice the water was clear. Very hot but relaxing. We got a chance to visit museums there and shop different places. The money was different, so we had to get souvenirs for the family.

I haven’t seen one of my friends since 9th grade, so I was excited to see her and vibe. The boat had nice different things going on. Food was good, we danced and also got a chance to meet some other people on the boat. The boat went to a couple places and back. Just looking at all that water and relaxing in the sun. This was a good experience and glad that I was able to go. We went Jet Skiing for the first time. Now that was fun and scary. My body was sore when I was done lol. I was squeezing tight so I would not fall off when hitting those waves.

We ported from Miami Fl, So we were able to go to the beach there and look around. To see how Miami was. I have to go back there and stay a couple of days, but I enjoyed the time we did stay. I told myself from this day on every birthday I have to take a trip and go somewhere and see the world. Even if it’s a new state, country, just go see more than where you live.

Tell me what your first experience was on a cruise? What Cruise line did you travel on? Where did you go?
