  • Cece on the Scenes: War Machine (Netflix Review) 🎬

If you’ve been following Cece in the City, then you already know I love a good action movie. Give me intense scenes, strong characters, and a story that keeps me locked in—and I’m definitely watching. So when I saw the new movie War Machine pop up on Netflix, I had to check it out.

Released on March 6, 2026, War Machine is a sci-fi action film directed by Patrick Hughes and stars Alan Ritchson as the main character known as “81.” The film also features a strong supporting cast including Dennis Quaid, Stephan James, and Jai Courtney.

The story follows a group of Army Ranger recruits who are going through the final phase of their intense military training. What starts as a routine exercise quickly turns into something much bigger when they encounter a deadly, otherworldly machine that begins hunting them down. Suddenly, their training mission becomes a fight for survival against a powerful robotic threat.

One thing I enjoyed about the movie is that it blends military action with science fiction. You get the gritty survival feel of a war film, but with the twist of advanced machines and unexpected danger. The action scenes were intense, and you could definitely feel the pressure the soldiers were under as they tried to outsmart a machine that seemed almost impossible to stop.

Of course, like many action films, some moments require you to just sit back and enjoy the ride. It’s not trying to be overly complicated—it’s more about the action, survival, and adrenaline. And honestly, sometimes that’s exactly what you want when you’re watching a movie.

From a Cece on the Scenes perspective, I would say this is a solid watch if you enjoy military thrillers, sci-fi action, and intense battle scenes.

    Cece’s Rating: 4 out of 5

It kept my attention, the action was strong, and it’s definitely a fun movie to watch if you’re looking for something exciting on Netflix.

So now I have to ask…

Have you watched War Machine yet?
And if you have, what would you rate it? 🍿✨

  • Nonnas: A Taste of Love, Loss, and Legacy

Hey Hey — Cece On the Scenes!

Y’all already know I have a soft spot for films based on true stories, and I just watched one that tugged at my heartstrings. It’s called Nonnas, and yes — it’s inspired by the real story of Enoteca Maria, a unique restaurant that started right on Staten Island.

The film follows a man who, after losing his beloved mother, finds himself drifting through grief. With what little money he had, he made a bold move — opening a restaurant. But not just any restaurant. He brought in a group of older women, “nonnas,” to cook just like grandmothers do — real, soulful, homemade meals that feel like a warm hug.

Of course, the kitchen wasn’t always smooth sailing. These ladies had their fair share of personality clashes and dramatic moments, but it was all part of the journey. What truly moved me was his intention — to recreate the love, warmth, and legacy of his mother through food. And let’s not forget his best friend who stood by him through thick and thin. That loyalty? Beautiful.

This film hit me hard — made me think of my own mother and grandmother, and had me in my feelings the whole time. It’s a story of love, legacy, and the healing power of food. With Mother’s Day just passing, the timing of this release is perfect. I give Nonnas a heartfelt 4 out of 5 stars.

Grab your tissues and go check it out. And as always, stay tuned and follow Cece On the Scenes for more film gems and soulful stories.
