Hey everyone! Welcome back to Cece On the Scenes! 🍿🎬❤️
Okay y’all… Tyler Perry has done it again!
This week’s movie is Tyler Perry’s Doing Life, now streaming on Netflix, and you already know I couldn’t pass up another good love story. 😂❤️

I watched it, and I’m giving this one:
⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4 out of 5!
Yep—4 out of 5!
But let me tell you why.
❤️ Love Can Find You in Unexpected Places
Doing Life follows Anika, a single mother trying to hold her family together, and Carousel, a man serving time who is working toward a different future. The two begin building an unexpected connection through letters, and that relationship grows into something neither of them necessarily expected.
And of course, because this is a Tyler Perry movie, you know we’re going to get some drama, emotions, family issues and life lessons mixed in.
But what I really took away from this movie was the idea of second chances.
🔄 Everybody Deserves a Second Chance
We all make mistakes.
We all have things in our past we’d probably do differently.
But does someone’s past have to define their entire future?
I don’t think so.
Sometimes people really do change.
Sometimes people grow.
Sometimes they just need someone to believe there’s more to them than the worst thing they’ve ever done.
And sometimes that second chance comes in a form you never expected.
That’s one of the things I liked about this movie.
It reminds us that where you’ve been doesn’t always determine where you’re going.

💕 And Y’all Know I Love LOVE!
If you’ve been following Cece On the Scenes, you already know I’m going to find the love story somewhere! 😂❤️
But this wasn’t just about romantic love.
It was also about hope, understanding, forgiveness and finding someone who sees something in you that you may not even see in yourself yet.
Life can throw some serious things at us.
But when two people are willing to work through things together, listen to each other and keep moving forward, sometimes they can build something beautiful.
👀 Sometimes Family Doesn’t See Your Vision
Now THIS part made me think.
Sometimes the people closest to you don’t always understand your choices.
Sometimes family members think they’re protecting you.
Sometimes they have their own opinions about who you should be with, what you should do and what direction your life should take.
But at some point, you have to ask yourself:
“What does my heart say?”
Because at the end of the day, you have to live your life.
Everyone can have an opinion about your choices, but nobody else has to wake up every morning and live with those choices except you.
That doesn’t mean you ignore the people who love you.
It means you listen, you think, you pray if that’s part of your journey, and then you make the decision that’s right for you.

🎭 Tyler Perry Does What Tyler Perry Does
One thing about Tyler Perry—he knows how to bring real-life situations, complicated relationships and emotional moments to the screen.
Doing Life is written, directed and produced by Tyler Perry, with Naomi Baker and Jay Reeves leading the cast.
And this movie definitely falls into that Tyler Perry space where you’re watching the story unfold while thinking:
“Oh wow… what would I do?”
That’s what I enjoy about movies like this.
They entertain you, but they also make you think.
😭 Was I Emotional?
YES!
😂😭❤️
I definitely had some emotional moments watching this one.
And that’s another reason I gave it a 4 out of 5.
It wasn’t just something I watched and forgot about.
It left me thinking about love, family, mistakes, forgiveness, second chances and the choices we make when life doesn’t go according to plan.
And isn’t that what a good movie is supposed to do?
Make you feel something.

🍿 My Final Verdict
If you enjoy:
❤️ Romance
🎭 Drama
😭 Emotional stories
🔄 Second chances
👨👩👧 Family dynamics
💭 Movies that make you think
Then I think Doing Life is worth checking out.
It’s currently streaming on Netflix, and it’s definitely one you can add to your movie-night list.
