This week, I watched Animals on Netflix, starring Ben Affleck, and let me tell you, this movie had twists and turns that kept me thinking!
You know I enjoy a good movie, especially when it has a little mystery, drama, and a storyline that makes you pay attention. I don’t want to figure everything out in the first 15 minutes. Give me a reason to stay until the credits roll!
And Animals definitely gave me something to think about.

🎭 Let’s Talk About the Cast — These Actors Understood the Assignment!
One thing I have to give this movie credit for is its cast. The acting was good, and I thought the actors did a great job bringing their characters to life.
Ben Affleck as Mark Kimball
Ben Affleck takes on the lead role of Mark Kimball, a father and mayoral candidate whose world is turned upside down. He also directed the film, which makes his involvement in this project even more interesting. His character is placed in an intense situation where every decision matters.
Kerry Washington as Abigail Kimball
Kerry Washington plays Abigail Kimball, Mark’s wife. She brings a strong presence to the story as the family faces an unimaginable crisis. I always enjoy seeing actors take on roles that require them to navigate complicated emotions and difficult circumstances.
Gillian Anderson as Dayle Burton
Gillian Anderson adds another layer to the film with her performance as Dayle Burton. She is one of those actresses who knows how to command attention on screen, and her presence fits the movie’s suspenseful atmosphere.
Steven Yeun
Steven Yeun is also part of the cast, bringing his talent to a story where the pressure continues to build. His work in dramatic roles makes him an actor worth watching.
Adriana Paz and Luis Gerardo Méndez
Both actors round out the cast and contribute to the movie’s unfolding drama. With a story that keeps revealing new details, the performances help maintain the tension and keep viewers invested.
Overall, I thought the cast did a good job. When you have talented actors working together in a suspenseful movie, it makes the experience even better!

Y’all, this is where I have to be honest!
I enjoy a good plot twist. I love when a movie makes me think I have everything figured out, only for something else to happen that changes my perspective.
But Animals had me questioning some things!
There were moments when I thought I understood what was happening, and then the story would take another turn. I found myself trying to connect the dots, figure out the characters, and understand how everything fit together.
And when the movie was over, I was still a little confused about who was who! 😂
I’m not even going to pretend I walked away with every question answered. I enjoyed the movie, but I definitely had some things I wanted to go back and think about.
Sometimes, a movie leaves you with more questions than answers, and this was one of those experiences for me.
However, I will give the movie credit for keeping my attention. It had enough suspense and unexpected moments to make me want to see how everything would unfold.
And honestly, that’s one of the things I appreciate about watching movies. They give us something to experience, something to think about, and sometimes something to debate with other people afterward.
⭐ Did Animals Deserve Four Out of Five Stars?
Absolutely! My rating is 4 out of 5 stars.
Here’s why:
The acting: I thought the cast did a good job bringing the characters to life.
The suspense: The storyline kept me watching and wondering what would happen next.
The twists: There were enough unexpected moments to keep me guessing.
The conversation afterward: Even though I was a little confused, I still wanted to talk about what I had watched!
The only reason I’m not giving it a perfect five is that I would have liked to walk away with a clearer understanding of everything that happened.
But overall, I enjoyed it, and I think it was worth watching.
