There’s something beautiful about becoming the person you were always meant to be.
Hey everyone — first, thank you. Thank you for following my journey, subscribing, reading my blogs, watching my videos, liking my posts, sharing my content, and simply supporting me along the way. Every comment, message, and bit of encouragement means more than you know.

For those who may be new here, let me properly introduce myself.
My name is Cece, creator of Cece in the City, and storytelling has always been part of who I am. Long before blogs, YouTube videos, and travel content, I was the girl writing letters in middle school and high school. I loved putting feelings into words, checking the mailbox, and connecting with people through handwritten notes. Reading books and writing became my safe place, my creativity, and honestly… a piece of my identity.

I didn’t know then that those little letters would one day grow into blogs, magazines, poetry, travel stories, and a whole community.

My love for travel truly began in 2014 after taking a major trip that changed my perspective on life. After that, something inside me opened up. I wanted to see more, experience more, and learn more about the world and myself. Since then, I’ve tried to take at least one meaningful trip every year. If I couldn’t leave the country, I explored somewhere in the United States because adventure doesn’t always require a passport — sometimes it’s found in a small town, a mountain trail, a hidden café, or a peaceful scenic drive.
Travel taught me that life is bigger than fear, routine, or staying comfortable.
Over the years, I’ve learned that I genuinely love:
- Reading books that inspire me
- Networking and meeting new people
- Nature and beautiful scenery
- Hidden gems and local experiences
- Trying new things
- Creating memories instead of waiting for the “perfect time”
That’s what inspired me to create Cece in the City — a space where I can share adventures, reviews, hidden gems, travel experiences, and pieces of my life with all of you. What started as a simple idea slowly became a growing platform and community.

Alongside that, I also created Where It Begins, my media and magazine platform that I’ve now been building for 8 years. Honestly… saying “8 years” out loud feels unreal. Time really flies when you’re building something from passion and purpose.

Living in Atlanta since 2014 has also shaped me in so many ways. This city introduced me to incredible people, opportunities, friendships, creative spaces, events, and unforgettable memories. I’ve met inspiring entrepreneurs, celebrities, artists, and everyday people with powerful stories. Atlanta helped me step outside my shell and become more confident in creating the life I wanted.
But beyond travel and media, I also wanted to create spaces that encourage positivity and connection.
That’s why I started Candlelight Conversations with Cece, where I share short motivational and encouraging messages because sometimes people simply need a reminder to keep going.

I also challenged myself to write poetry one day, and what started as a simple challenge turned into an actual poetry book. That experience taught me something important: sometimes the things we talk ourselves out of are the very things we’re supposed to create.

Then came Cece Book Club, where we meet monthly on Zoom to discuss our current reads, share thoughts, laugh, and connect through books. It became more than just reading — it became community.

I also started WSS: Women Stand Strong, a women’s group where we meet once a month to do adventures, grab food, experience new things, and simply spend quality time together. In a world where everyone is busy, I truly value genuine connection and creating moments with people.

One thing I’ve always believed is that if you can give back, you should.
This year especially, I wanted to spread kindness throughout the city through monthly appreciation campaigns:
- January: Thank-you cards and gifts for firefighters
- February: Hearts for Hope and teddy bears for the Ronald McDonald House Charities
- March: Shamrocks for nurses to say thank you
- April: A community book drive
- May: Mother’s Day gifts for important women and caregivers
Even small acts of kindness can make someone feel seen.

And now… I’m beginning one of my biggest adventures yet:
50 States. 50 Stories. By 50.

This journey is about more than checking states off a map. It’s about collecting stories, meeting people, experiencing cultures, finding hidden gems, and documenting life along the way. My goal is to visit all 50 states within the next six years before turning 50.
Every state will have a story.
Every trip will teach me something.
Every memory will matter.
And honestly? I’m excited to bring you all along for the ride.
From letters in school notebooks…
to poetry books…
to blogs…
to magazines…
to women’s groups…
to travel adventures…
This journey has been built one step at a time.
So whether you’ve been supporting me since day one or just found my page recently, thank you for being here. Thank you for reading my words, believing in my dreams, and growing with me.
If you’ve been enjoying the journey and would like to support my goal of visiting all 50 states through my 50 States, 50 Stories by 50 adventure, I’d truly appreciate it!
