Movie nights always hit different when you already loved the book first, and that’s exactly how I felt watching A Remarkably Bright Creature on Netflix. From the beginning, I was excited to see how they would bring the story to life on screen, and overall, I really enjoyed it. Cece On the Scenes gives it a solid 4 out of 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨

What made this story stand out to me the most was the emotional connection throughout the movie. It wasn’t just about an octopus or someone trying to figure life out — it was really about healing, loneliness, friendship, and finding your place in the world when you feel lost. The bond between the octopus and the characters was honestly beautiful to watch. Strange at first maybe, but also heartfelt and meaningful.
One thing I loved was how the movie showed that sometimes people come into your life exactly when you need them the most. Both the main character and the octopus seemed lost in their own ways, and somehow they helped each other heal. That part really stuck with me because life can feel like that sometimes. You can be searching for answers, direction, or connection, and then unexpectedly find comfort where you least expect it.

Since I also read the book, I noticed some differences between the book and movie, but I still think the movie captured the heart of the story really well. The emotional moments hit hard, and there were scenes that were sad but also comforting at the same time. I definitely found myself reflecting on life, relationships, and how important connection really is.
I also loved the peaceful ocean and aquarium scenes throughout the movie. It gave the film a calm feeling while still carrying deep emotions underneath. The octopus honestly became one of my favorite characters because of how smart, observant, and caring he seemed. It made the story feel unique compared to most movies out right now.

If you enjoy emotional stories, meaningful friendships, book-to-movie adaptations, or movies that leave you thinking afterward, I would definitely recommend checking this one out. It’s one of those movies that quietly stays with you after it’s over.
And if you haven’t read the book yet, I highly recommend reading it too because it adds even more depth to the story and characters.
