Cece on the Scenes: Voicemails for Isabella

Happy Monday, everyone!

Before I get into this week’s Cece on the Scenes movie review, I want to take a moment to acknowledge someone very special.

Today is my mom’s Heavenly Birthday. 💜

Mom, I wish you were here. You are deeply missed, loved beyond words, and never forgotten. Not a day goes by that I don’t think about you and the memories we shared. Birthdays look a little different when the people we love are no longer physically with us, but their love, lessons, and spirit continue to live on through us. Happy Heavenly Birthday, Mom. I love you always.

Now, let’s get into this week’s movie review.

🎥 Voicemails for Isabella

Some movies entertain you, some make you laugh, and some arrive at exactly the right time. Voicemails for Isabella was one of those movies for me.

The film starts off with an emotional punch. I won’t give away too many spoilers, but be prepared—it is definitely a tearjerker at the beginning. As the story unfolds, however, it balances those emotional moments with humor, hope, and a reminder that life has a way of surprising us when we least expect it.

One of the things I enjoyed most about this movie was its message about life’s unexpected journey. We never truly know what tomorrow will bring or who might walk into our lives and change everything. Sometimes we spend so much time trying to control every detail that we miss the beauty of simply allowing life to happen.

The movie reminded me that things happen for a reason. Sometimes the people we meet, the challenges we face, and even the detours we didn’t plan become the very things that lead us where we’re supposed to be.

As someone who loves love stories and believes in meaningful connections, this film spoke to me. I especially loved one quote from the movie:

“Sometimes life rigs things in our favor.”

What a powerful statement.

How many times have we looked back at a difficult season only to realize that something beautiful was being worked out behind the scenes? Sometimes what feels like a setback is actually setting us up for something greater.

And can we talk about the ending? You all know I love a happy ending! ❤️ I believe everyone deserves companionship, love, friendship, and someone who truly sees them. This movie delivered that feel-good ending that leaves you smiling long after the credits roll.
