There are moments when a story doesn’t just entertain you—it takes you back in time, pulls at your emotions, and reminds you why legends never fade. That was exactly my experience today when I went to see the Michael.

Now, if you’ve been following Cece on the Scenes, you already know I keep it real with my ratings—1 to 5, no exceptions. But listen… this one? It broke the scale. We’re talking a solid 10/10. Yes, I said it!
From the very first scene, I was locked in. The storytelling, the performances, the energy—it all felt like a beautiful tribute to a man who changed music forever. Even though they were out of posters (I was this close to grabbing one 😩), I couldn’t even be mad because the movie itself gave me everything I needed and more.
And let’s talk about the casting—because this right here deserves its own moment. Jaafar Jackson, his nephew, played his role so well. You can truly tell he’s a Jackson. The mannerisms, the energy, the presence—it all felt natural and authentic. He was absolutely amazing, and I’m genuinely proud of him for stepping into such an iconic role and delivering the way he did 👏🏽
And let’s talk about timing—because back in February, I had the chance to experience MJ the Musical at the iconic Fox Theatre. That performance was absolutely incredible, so you already know my expectations were high walking into this film. And somehow? The movie still delivered.

What stands out the most is how both the musical and the film capture the essence of Michael Jackson—his genius, his passion, and the complexity of his life. Watching pieces of his journey unfold on screen was powerful. It’s a reminder that while he may be gone, his influence is everywhere… and deeply missed.
I left the theater feeling inspired—and not gonna lie, I’m officially in my Michael Jackson era again. The playlists are about to be on repeat, from his solo hits to the magic of The Jackson 5.
If you’ve seen the movie, I need to hear your thoughts! And if you haven’t yet—trust me, this is your sign. It’s more than a movie… it’s an experience. 🎶💫
