Atlanta has a way of turning just about anything into an experience.
A parking lot? Event space.
An old warehouse? Event space.
A motor lounge? Apparently, a whole party!
And that is exactly how I found myself at Club 1BD at Westside Motor Lounge for our August outing with the ladies of our women’s group.

One of the ladies recommended this event and I was like, “Okay, let’s try something different!”
I was told there would be three or four DJs, good music, and lots of vibes. What I didn’t realize was that we were going to be outside.
Now, let me tell you about the outfit.
The event colors were orange and yellow, and wouldn’t you know it, I had just bought a yellow dress from Fashion Nova that I hadn’t worn yet.
Well…this seemed like the perfect opportunity.
I put that dress on and immediately realized, Okayyy Cece! 😂
The dress was cute, but the slit was definitely showing some leg. I looked in the mirror like, “Oh, so THIS is what we’re doing today?” LOL.
But hey, sometimes you just have to wear the dress!

First Stop: Food…and My Ice 😂
Before heading to the event, I stopped to grab something to eat because I already knew I needed something in my stomach.
But naturally, I had my cup of ice.
And if you know me, you already know.
I had to finish my ice!
So while everybody was ready to get inside and get the party started, I’m standing there on the side eating my ice because it was HOT outside.
Listen, my fellow ice eaters understand. 😂
That ice was not getting left behind!
Welcome to Club 1BD
Once we arrived, we found some chairs near the DJ stage and settled in.
The sun was BEAMING.
There was a little drizzle for a minute, but it didn’t last long. Atlanta weather basically said, “I’m going to let y’all have a little something, but we’re getting back to this heat!”
Thankfully, my friend had a neck fan because I forgot mine.
And let me just say…
That neck fan was doing God’s work! 😂
They were also handing out fans, which was definitely appreciated.
Looking around, I couldn’t help but think about how creative Atlanta is when it comes to entertainment.
The setup reminded me a little of a giant Atlanta-style bonfire gathering—people outside, music playing, DJs rotating, everybody dressed in the event colors, and people just enjoying themselves.
And it was PACKED.
Orange.
Yellow.
Music.
Sun.
DJs.
People dancing everywhere.
And I stood there thinking…
Atlanta will find a way to make money! 😂
From Dancing All Night to Dancing…Responsibly 😂

This kind of event actually took me back.
About 20 years ago, I was the girl who could dance all over the place and didn’t think twice about it.
Fast forward to today…
Let’s just say I’m not getting low like I used to! 😂😂
My knees have entered the conversation.
But that didn’t stop me from enjoying myself.
Everybody was dancing, laughing, hanging out and enjoying the music. The DJs kept the energy going, and the crowd was definitely giving what it was supposed to give.
Sometimes you don’t have to be the one in the middle of the dance floor.
You can sit back.
Watch.
Laugh.
Dance a little.
Talk.
Take pictures.
Enjoy the music.
And just be present.
That’s exactly what I did.
A Different Kind of Night Out

What I really enjoyed about this outing was that it wasn’t the typical dinner-and-drinks type of girls’ night.
We tried something different.
We got outside.
We listened to different DJs.
We watched the crowd.
We laughed.
We danced.
We relaxed.
And most importantly, we enjoyed each other’s company.
That’s what I love about having a women’s group.
It’s easy for us to get caught up in work, family, responsibilities and everything else life throws at us.
But sometimes you need somebody to say:
“Girl, let’s go have some fun!”
And that’s exactly what this was.
The Hustle Is Real
Another thing that caught my attention was the business behind the event.
This wasn’t just one party happening in Atlanta.
Club 1BD takes the experience to different cities.
And I had to sit there and think about that.
The hustle is real.
Someone created an idea, built a brand around it, brought DJs together, created a theme, attracted a crowd and turned it into something that can travel from city to city.
As somebody who loves business, media, events and creating experiences, I couldn’t help but pay attention.
I’m always looking at things differently.
I’m enjoying myself, but I’m also thinking:
How did they build this?
How can I create something like this?
What kind of experience could I bring to people?
Because sometimes inspiration doesn’t come from sitting at a desk.
Sometimes inspiration comes while you’re standing outside in a yellow dress, sweating in the Atlanta sun, eating your ice and watching hundreds of people dance. 😂

Atlanta Will Always Give You Something To Do
One thing I can say about Atlanta is that there is ALWAYS something going on.
You can find a restaurant.
A concert.
A pop-up.
A festival.
A comedy show.
A rooftop party.
A museum.
A community event.
Or apparently…an outdoor DJ experience at a motor lounge.
That’s one of the reasons I love exploring the city.
You don’t always have to travel far to find something new.
Sometimes you just need to say:
“Okay, I’ve never done that before. Let’s try it.”
And that’s exactly what we did.

Until Next Time…
I’m glad my friend recommended Club 1BD and I’m glad the ladies came out to enjoy the experience with me.
We had good music, good energy, plenty of laughs and a whole lot of Atlanta sunshine!
And of course, I had to wear my yellow dress.
Would I do it again?
Absolutely.
Would I remember my neck fan next time?
ABSOLUTELY! 😂
And would I still bring my cup of ice?
You already know the answer to that.
Always.
This was just one of our August adventures, though.
Because when the day ended, I had another event to head to!
So stay tuned for the next chapter of Cece in the City.
Because the adventures don’t stop just because the sun goes down.
Positive vibes. New experiences. Good people. Good music.
That’s what life is about.
And I’m always down to try something new.
Until the next adventure…
Cece in the City ❤️
