Sometimes you have those Sundays where you’re tired, you’ve already been out and about, and your body is saying, “Girl, go home!” 😂
But then you remember you have somewhere to be—and when it involves good friends, good music, and people you’ve supported for years, you show up!
That’s exactly what happened this past Sunday when I headed to Atlanta City Winery for The LeVert Experience.
And let me tell you… I’m so glad I went!

🎤 The LeVert Experience
If you’re not familiar with The LeVert Experience, let me introduce you to the voices behind the show: Joe Little, Marc Gordon, and Dave Tolliver.
These talented artists came together to celebrate the music and legacy connected to LeVert, the group founded by the late, great Gerald LeVert.
One of the things I really appreciated about the show was the way they honored Gerald throughout the evening. His presence was felt through photos and memories that reminded everyone of the incredible legacy he left behind.
It was a beautiful tribute and a reminder that although people may leave us, their music and impact can live on.
❤️ From an Interview to the Stage
What made the night even more special for me was seeing Dave Tolliver.
I actually had the opportunity to interview Dave for my 100 Voices 100 Stories project, so we’ve already had that connection through my media work.
I also had the opportunity years ago to feature Dave and Joe in Where It Begins Magazine, so seeing them again on stage all these years later was a full-circle moment for me.
And of course, I had told Dave I was going to come out and support the show.
So when I showed up, I was like, “Surprise! I told you I was coming!” 😂
Honestly, that’s just how I am.
If I say I’m coming to support you, I’m going to do my best to be there.
I believe in supporting good people, especially people I’ve had the opportunity to connect with throughout my journey.

🎶 And Those Voices?!
Listen… after all these years, THE VOICES STILL SOUND AMAZING!
I was sitting there thinking, Wow!
There is something special about hearing classic R&B performed live. Those songs bring back memories, emotions, and moments from different seasons of life.
And yes… I was in there singing! 😂🎤
This was actually my second event of the day, so by the time I got to Atlanta City Winery, I was definitely tired.
But once the music started?
Tired who?!
I was enjoying myself!
The music was good, the atmosphere was great, and it was just one of those nights where you can sit back and appreciate talented artists doing what they love.

👯♀️ Good Friends Make the Experience Better
Of course, I wasn’t rolling solo.
I want to give a big shoutout to my homegirl Yaz, who came with me to enjoy the show. Everything is better when you have good friends beside you—especially when you can laugh, sing, enjoy the music, and create another memory together.
And as I was leaving, I ran into my homegirl Bonita.
I love those unexpected moments when you’re walking out of an event and run into someone you know.
It’s always nice to see good people! ❤️

✨ Proud of You Guys!
Joe, Marc, and Dave, I just want to say I’m proud of you!
After all these years, you’re still out here sharing your voices, bringing people together through music, and keeping this incredible legacy alive.
Now you’re taking The LeVert Experience on tour, and I’m wishing you guys an amazing tour!
Keep doing what you do.
Keep making music.
Keep honoring the legacy.
And keep giving audiences the opportunity to experience these songs live.

📍 Until the Next Outing…
Another Sunday. Another event. Another memory added to the Cece in the City adventures.
Was I tired?
Absolutely! 😂
Did I still go?
Of course!
Did I have a good time?
Absolutely!
Because sometimes you have to push past the tiredness and go make the memory.
And this was definitely a memory worth making.
From the music, the friendships, the memories, and seeing people I’ve supported throughout the years, Sunday night was another reminder of why I love what I do.
So here’s to good music, good people, and keeping the legacy alive.
Until the next outing…
Keep exploring. Keep supporting. Keep making memories.
