As we reach the halfway point of 2026, I’m taking a moment to reflect on one of the projects that has meant the most to me—Cece in the City Cares.
This campaign was created with one simple mission: to spread kindness, recognize everyday heroes, and remind people that they are appreciated. Sometimes the smallest gestures can make the biggest difference, and that’s exactly what we’ve focused on throughout the first six months of the year.
While these may have been small acts of kindness, each one was filled with gratitude, love, and a desire to make someone smile.
January: Thanking Our Firefighters 🚒
We kicked off the year by visiting two local fire stations to deliver thank-you cards and small gifts. Our firefighters dedicate their lives to protecting our communities, often without expecting recognition. This was our way of saying, “Thank you for everything you do.”

February: Sharing Love at Ronald McDonald House ❤️
February was all about spreading love. We donated handmade hearts and small teddy bears to families staying at the Ronald McDonald House. During challenging times, we hoped these simple gifts would bring comfort and remind families that their community is thinking about them.

March: Lucky to Have Our Nurses 🍀
In March, we celebrated the incredible nurses working at two local hospitals by delivering shamrocks and appreciation gifts. Nurses work tirelessly every day, and we wanted them to know how grateful we are for their compassion, dedication, and care.

April: Donating Books to Covenant House Georgia 📚
As a passionate reader, this month was especially meaningful. We donated books to Covenant House Georgia, helping provide young people with opportunities to learn, escape through stories, and find inspiration. Books have the power to change lives, and I’m honored we could share that gift.

May: Celebrating Amazing Moms 💐
Mother’s Day gave us the opportunity to surprise a few deserving moms with appreciation gifts. Mothers often put everyone else first, so it was wonderful to celebrate them and remind them how valued they truly are.
June: Honoring Great Dads 💙
To close out the first half of the year, we recognized a few fathers with appreciation gifts. Fathers, father figures, and mentors make a lasting impact on families and communities, and we wanted to say thank you for all they do.
More Than Gifts—It’s About Gratitude
The Cece in the City Cares campaign isn’t about giving expensive gifts. It’s about creating moments of encouragement, appreciation, and connection throughout our community.
Whether it’s a handwritten thank-you card, a small teddy bear, a book, or a thoughtful gift, every act reminds someone that they are seen, valued, and appreciated.
Thank You
None of this would be possible without the amazing people who have collaborated, donated, encouraged, and supported this campaign along the way.
Thank you to everyone who has helped make these community blessings possible. Your generosity has allowed us to continue spreading kindness one small act at a time.
As we head into the second half of 2026, we’re excited to continue serving our community, recognizing everyday heroes, and finding new ways to give back.
Because at the end of the day, that’s what Cece in the City Cares is all about—making a difference through small acts of kindness that leave a lasting impact.
Here’s to many more opportunities to serve, encourage, and care for our community together.
