If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway with breathtaking mountain views, incredible wines, and genuine Southern hospitality, let me introduce you to what is now my favorite winery in Georgia—Yonah Mountain Vineyards.

This weekend I had the opportunity to visit Yonah Mountain Vineyards in Cleveland, Georgia, and from the moment I arrived, I knew this was going to be a special experience. Nestled at the base of the beautiful Yonah Mountain, the scenery was absolutely breathtaking. The rolling vineyards, peaceful atmosphere, and stunning mountain backdrop make this one of the most beautiful places I’ve visited in North Georgia.
Nearly 200 Acres of Beauty
One thing that immediately stood out was just how expansive the property is. Yonah Mountain Vineyards spans nearly 200 acres, creating a peaceful escape where you can truly relax and take in the beauty of North Georgia. Everywhere you look is another postcard-worthy view.
As I walked around the vineyard, I couldn’t help but think how perfect this place would be for a wedding. If you’re planning your special day, I would absolutely recommend Yonah Mountain Vineyards. The mountain views, beautiful vineyards, elegant setting, and peaceful atmosphere create a picture-perfect backdrop for saying “I do.” Whether you’re exchanging vows outdoors overlooking the vines or celebrating with family and friends inside one of their beautiful event spaces, this venue is simply breathtaking. It’s truly one of the most beautiful wedding destinations I’ve seen in Georgia.

The Story Behind Yonah Mountain
One of my favorite parts of the tour was learning the history behind the vineyard.
The name “Yonah” comes from the Cherokee word for “Bear.” The vineyard pays homage to the Cherokee people who once lived on this land by maintaining an eco-friendly winery that respects both the beauty and history of this incredible landmark.
While the property spans nearly 200 acres, approximately 20 acres are planted with wine grapes, including Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Petit Manseng, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Petit Verdot. Seeing the vineyards up close while learning about the growing process made me appreciate every glass of wine even more.

Meeting the Miller Family
One of the highlights of our visit was meeting the owners—Bob, Jane, and Eric Miller.
From the moment we arrived, they welcomed us like family. Throughout the tour, each of them took turns explaining the history of the winery, how the wines are crafted, the different grape varieties they grow, and the passion that goes into every bottle. Their knowledge and love for what they do made the entire experience educational, personal, and unforgettable.
You could immediately tell this isn’t just a winery—it’s a family legacy built with dedication and heart.

The Wine Tour Experience
If you’re visiting, I highly recommend booking the guided wine tour.
The tour lasted about 90 minutes and included samples of six different wines, including several exclusive wines that can only be tasted and purchased during the tour. We learned how long wine takes to produce, how the grapes are harvested, how the barrels affect flavor, and everything that goes into creating an award-winning bottle of wine.

Although we didn’t get to stomp grapes like you see in the movies, we did learn about their upcoming Crush Fest 2026, where guests can actually experience the grape harvest. That is definitely on my list for next year!
The tour ended in Bob Miller’s Reserve Wine Room, where we enjoyed an intimate wine and chocolate pairing. It was the perfect ending to an already amazing experience.
Every guest also received a beautiful branded Riedel wine glass to take home, which made for a wonderful keepsake.

Let’s Talk About the Wine
Now for my favorite part—the tasting!
Estate Cuvée Rosé
Our first wine offered tropical and floral aromas with notes of white rose petals and bubblegum. It was light, refreshing, and perfect for a warm Georgia afternoon.
Jane’s Estate Barrel Select Chardonnay
Named in honor of Jane Miller, this Chardonnay featured gentle notes of coconut, toffee, lemon custard, and lime. Smooth, creamy, and beautifully balanced.
Pinot Noir
This wine showcased aromas of dried raisins and cranberry while the palate revealed flavors of cola, caramel, and fig. It had wonderful depth and complexity.
Estate Barrel Select Petit Verdot
This bold red featured a complex tannin structure with flavors of blueberry, black currant, gravel, and violet. Rich and full-bodied.
NV Vineyard Select Mélange
A lush and velvety red blend bursting with dark chocolate, cherry plum, and blueberry flavors. Absolutely delicious.
2017 Totem ⭐ My Favorite
Saving the best for last was the 2017 Totem, their signature Cabernet Sauvignon made with hand-selected fruit from Howell Mountain in Napa Valley. This wine was rich, smooth, elegant, and incredibly easy to drink. From the very first sip, I knew this one was my favorite of the day.

Great Food & Live Entertainment
No vineyard experience is complete without great food and music.
During our visit, we enjoyed delicious food from Southern Epicurean. There was also live entertainment that created a relaxing atmosphere throughout the afternoon.

One surprise that made the day even more memorable was watching Bob and Eric Miller perform on the piano and drums. It was such a fun, personal touch that really showcased the family atmosphere of the vineyard.
Yes—it was definitely a hot Georgia summer day, but thankfully we weren’t outside too long. The views alone made every minute worth it.
Why I’ll Be Back
What impressed me most wasn’t just the wine—it was the entire experience.
The hospitality from Bob, Jane, and Eric Miller made us feel welcomed from beginning to end. Learning the history behind the vineyard, seeing where the grapes are grown, understanding the winemaking process, enjoying the wine and chocolate pairing, listening to live music, and simply taking in the incredible mountain views made this much more than a wine tasting.
It was an experience.
Whether you’re planning a romantic weekend, a girls’ trip, celebrating a special occasion, looking for a beautiful wedding venue, or simply love discovering hidden gems around Georgia, Yonah Mountain Vineyards belongs on your travel list.
I can honestly say this has become my number one winery in Georgia, and I already can’t wait to go back.
