    Interview with Sincurr

    By: Where It Begins

    Q. Tell everyone who you are and what you do?

    A. First, thank you for having me. Who I am is a complicated question, but I’m an entrepreneur, a musician and an audio engineer amongst other things.

    Q. How would you define the music you create?

    A. I would describe my music as real Hip-Hip. I’m from New York and I grew up in the 90s and the 2000s. I feel like, at that time, we had a lot lyricism. The people coming out then had a good time, but they were also still actual artists. Some would call what I do conscious hip-hop, but I just consider myself a hip-hop artist.

    Q. What has been your greatest accomplishment you’ve received in your career?

    A. When someone tells me they can relate to my song and it gave them a different perspective, or made them feel like they weren’t alone, that’s what really makes me feel accomplished. As an artist, that is all that I can ask for if my music actually helps and changes lives.

    Interview with Raheem Holt

    By: Where It Begins

    Q. Tell everyone who you are and what you do?

    A. Well, I am Raheem Holt from Pulaski, Tennessee. It’s a very small town where we have about 3 red lights and before you know it, you’ll be in another city. I am a multi-talented man, but I’ll say I’m a comedian first, then an actor, host, writer and currently working towards being a producer as I do a little part-time work behind the scenes.

    Q. What made you want to be a comedian?

    A. As a child, I always made funny videos that would make everyone laugh. I would get so excited to make my family and friends laugh through the stories I told and just be myself. It wasn’t until later that I found out it was an actual gift of mine and there was a name for it. Looking back on the videos I made, I realized I had been a comedian the entire time.

    Q. Tell us one fun fact about yourself?

    A. A fun fact about me is before every performance I stretch and play video games. That’s my warmup. I can play video games for 20 hours nonstop and not get tired.

    Interview with VBae

    By: Where It Begins

    Q. Tell us who VBae is?

    A. VBae is a versatile type of chick; multi-personality but not in a crazy way, ha-ha. She’s outgoing & outspoken.

    Q. How did you become a Vegan? What challenges have you had becoming one?

    A. I became vegan because I got really sick with a tumor a while back. And I just started looking into what was going into my body. I was just becoming more aware, stuff like that. Challenges, I would say are going to the mall and smelling fried chicken, you know anywhere like fast food. When I got into Publix, they’ve got all the hot food, oh my gosh it smells so good. But then I’m like no, it’s not good for you. Period.

    Q. If you could go anywhere in the world where would you go?

    A. I would probably go to Italy because that’s where my mother’s side of the family is from. And yeah, Italy is beautiful. I would love to go there.

    Q. Describe your style and how it is different from others?

    A. My style is different because I only f*** like one-on-one s***. I try to find people who are just coming up and show love to independent business owners. That’s pretty much my style. I don’t like wearing what everybody else is wearing, period.

  • Interview with DJ Lucky Calhoun

    Interview with DJ Lucky Calhoun

    By: Where It Begins

Quote “Every DJ has a different experience. For me, I was able to go around the world, see and do some different things besides getting locked into the average routine of a DJ like being in the clubs or doing house parties.”

    Q. How did you come up with the name DJ Lucky Calhoun?

    A. My original name when I entered the industry was DJ Swift C. After my music partner, Freddy Calhoun, professionally known as “Coolbreeze” and I linked up with Organized Noize, an Atlanta based music production team; I changed my name to Lucky Calhoun, and we became the Calhouns. The name stuck and I added the DJ to the front and have been known as DJ Lucky Calhoun ever since.

    Q. What is one of the best experiences working as a DJ?

    A. Every DJ has a different experience. For me, I was able to go around the world, see and do some different things besides getting locked into the average routine of a DJ like being in the clubs or doing house parties.

    Q. Who is your biggest inspiration?

    A. My mother. She raised 4 kids with little help. She made sure we had somewhere to live, food on the table and clothes on our backs. She is definitely my biggest inspiration.

    Q. What other projects are you working on and where can everyone follow you?

    A. Right now, I am currently working with 112 and Jagged Edge on a set of shows called “The Experience”. I am preparing to tour worldwide with 112 later this year. I am also looking at creating a podcast where I would showcase new artists and their music. I want to give them a platform of their own where they aren’t competing with popular artists of today.
